After an 8 year "vacation" from UO I've decided to get back to what I've loved best about MMORPG's.
I'm reschooling myself on how to be a great caster, but I'm having difficulties determining a happy medium for my stats. Currently, I'm aiming to dive into PvM until I can garner enough gold or get lucky enough to pick power scrolls and what have you to bring my skills and stats over the top.
My end goal is to PvP and reacquaint myself with the aspects thereof, and then skip back into Siege Perilous for some much missed fun.
But I digress.
Right now I'm at 85/15/125. With my LRC gear I'm at a ridiculous mana pool of 156.
When I calculated my potential spell damage with just GM Eval/Inscription/Magery (opponent utilizing 40 in all resists) and using 110-125 int, the top-end damage seems static until I begin to dip beneath 110 int.
Which suggests to me that intellect bonuses cap out right at this particular number. (Even with 100 int, the top end numbers are negligibly different.)
What suggested stat balance for a player without access to scrolls would you suggest I run with for PvM and then PvP? I want to have a comfortable mana pool to burn down mobs, and eventually be able to dungeon crawl with a bit of a mana magazine at my disposal. But at the same time, I'm weary of abusing my other stats. (For example: When I used to play, opponents would separate and elevate stats to max out the damage of Mind Blast and melt fellow casters and dex-monkies to the floor.)
Thank you all in advance for reading me out.
