Startiling WoW-Olympic Similarity!
I’ve never been a true fan of the Olympics, primarily because I find sports particularly boring to watch. However, with all the hype surrounding Michael Phelps, I decided to tune in after I got done with my 10 matches of Arena in World of Warcraft.
I saw some interesting similarities – ones not so easily caught.
I saw Michael Phelps break record after record in swimming and I couldn’t help but wonder…how? Then, I saw a documentary on the news that answered my question. He supposedly had a very high-tech, top-of-the-line swim-suit that no other swimmers had had the chance to obtain. Thus, he was able to out-perform his opponents.
The similarity did not hit me until I decided to see if anything interesting was going on in the World of Warcraft General Forums. I saw the typical arguments about Warriors being overpowered, and how, somehow, Tom Chilton’s name comes up in every single one.
Then it hit me. The common argument is that Tom Chilton holds pressure over his subordinates at Blizzard and uses that to his advantage to make his favorite class, Warriors, overpowered so that he can win in the Arena. Thus, he gets the new season’s gear quicker than anyone else, and thus out-performs most other people attempting to win. Sound familiar?
Just as Tom Chilton supposedly gets his new gear first, Michael Phelps supposedly does to. Thus, Michael Phelps is supposedly able to out-perform any of his opponents who have not had the chance to obtain said gear, just as Tom Chilton supposedly does. Tom Chilton gets all his shiny weapons and Nether Drakes, while Michael Phelps gets all his shiny gold medals and hot fans.
Or maybe…maybe Tom Chilton IS Michael Phelps in disguise! So that’s his secret!
Another conspiracy solved!
