Stamina?

Has stamina changed recently?

My tamer has always had just 20 stamina (well, 18). But always got along just fine. Now that I'm back in UO however I've found that I can't ride for more than a few minutes without running out of stamina and having to sit and wait for it to regenerate.

Couple of questions for you:

What kind of armor (i.e., type of material) is your tamer wearing? Does the armor have stamina increase or stamina regeneration properties on it? Is your tamer riding an ethereal mount when he/she runs out of stamina? Are you playing in Felucca and pushing through a lot of stuff, or playing in Trammel? Are you using any potions? Are you seeing any debuff icons when this happens?

Leather armour. No stamina or regen on it, it's a pure mage suit.

I am riding an ethereal.

Happens in both fell and tram.

No pots. No bebuffs.

I'm not sure if they made a change sometime, but it happens to my mage all the time.

He has 21 Stamina, leather armor, riding Ethy mount and will run out of stamina after about 10 minutes.

Your "mount" does get tired from constant running and will cause YOU to slowly lose stamina.

Luckily my mage doesn't run really far very often, but this can be a problem if you're running to a location where you can't recall into. Ilshenar for example.

One option you might do is find a non-cursed Shame weapon with good Stamina Regen, and carry that if you're gonna do a lot of running. I've even found some weapons that are spell channeling with Stamina Regen 6.

Yes I had same problem with a ethy on my tamer only 20 stam but I found that adding 2 stam Regan it fixed it for me

Try switching out ethy's as I believe that's what is bugged.

Try putting your ethy mount in your bankbox overnight (i.e., so it is in the bankbox when server maintenance occurs) and see if that makes any difference for you.

My issue is not with the Ethy becoming fatigued, it's because my character runs out of stamina.

As I ride at a run pace, my character slowly loses stamina. Since he only has 21 stamina, it doesn't take too long before he runs out completely.

I think just adding Stamina Regen to your gear, or carrying a weapon with Stam Regen should fix this issue.

As mentioned above, adding 2 Stamina Regen in your suit somewhere has cured this problem for me. My PvM mages/tamers can run/ride all day, whether elf or human, with 2SR in the suit.

You lose stamina by running. The longer you run without slowing down the more stamina you lose. Only way to fix it is SR or to stop running.

Yeah, I get that. But it was never an issue less than a year ago for this character, and nothing has changed on him.

At least try a different ethy? I honestly have an ethy that I've had for years that is now bugged. No matter what char I use it on, it runs short on stamina in a very short amount of time. It stays in a chest and hasn't moved in probably 2 years now.

I have got a SR weapon and it's sorted the issue. Just have to remember to switch out to my spell book during combat!

Well at least ya know now. I'd say page a GM and have them look at your char but I think we all know, sadly, the odds of actually getting that to happen.
