Stackable Locked Down Items

Currently, if you have anything locked down, and it is a stackable resource, you have to unlock the item to be able to take any from the stack, then lock the item back down. Not only is this a hassle, but you run the risk of forgetting to lock the stack back down, or if you lose power or internet connection, are unable to return before stack decays, whatever, you lose it all.

Sure, you could keep everything in secured containers, but that adds another step or two if you are having to organize it all in interior pouches.
It also adds housing storage usage by having to do this. What if, for example, I wanted to deco my house with stackable glass bottles, but didn't want the hassle and risk of locking them all down, and opted to put the rest in a secured container? Now I am using 1 storage for the deco, and another for the actual storage of the bottles.

Why can't the person who locked down the stack freely take from it without having to unlock it first? You can add to it without unlocking.

Begone, minion of satin!

Your logic has no place in these halls!

...By which, I mean, I support the idea. But like the thousands of other little improvements that could make UO life easier, it will never see the light of day.

THE easiest thing in the world to do is have that ONE secured container for every stackable resource, perferably the biggest one you can find. Drop every stackable on that ONE chest and you never have to mouse over a stack perfectly to add to it.

While I agree its a nice idea, but YOU sir are a programmers nightmare.

Your the type of guy in the future thats gonna complain when the screen doesn't just move around and do what you want it too simply by looking at it.

Another :stretcher: idea.

Yes because heaven forbid someone actually try to IMPROVE this game. The programmers shouldn't be tasked with something so ridiculous, instead they should be wasting their time creating the endless baubles and trinkets that they sell on the website or toss to their last few paying customers when they screw something up.

Pfftt... One container for all?!!

I have:
One container for my Tailoring rescources.
One container for my Blacksmithy / Tinkering resources.
One container for my Imbuing resources.
One container for my Carpentry / Fletching resources.
One container for my Masonry resources.
One container for my Cooking resources.
One container for my Alchemy resources.
One container for my High Seas resources.
One container for my Scribe resources.
One container for my ML resources.

Think I can fit it all into 125 storage space?

If I were on staff at EA, these fixes would be done. If the devs actually played, they would have fixed them already. It is a simple fix in the coding, as the database already recognizes who locked down what, so they can set security settings and be the only one other than the house owner to unlock stuff.

Don't forget, you also have 1,256,288 containers for every piece of junk loot that has ever fallen off any mob, ever. :stir:
