Spring Turn-in Armor

I see a few people wearing this (mostly mage armor).

We were chatting about this and now I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure (that is they have done it) whether power of fortification can be used on it if you get lazy with repairs and it loses some maximum durability?

PoF worked fine on my Sorcerer's Suit tunic before I sold the set (was awhile ago). It was at 254 so I used it to make it max again.

PoF does work on it. I just repaired mine today and bumped it back up to 255.

Hmmm... maybe I might re-think using my sorcerer armor on my tamer.
