Will this be reactivated in the Spring? I know for many of us that farm a lot, we have a TON of this stuff taking up space. I'm wondering if my 10 sets of virtue armor etc is worth holding onto, or if it should just be trashed.

Spring Cleaning

As far as i know there have only been 2 UO "Cleaning Events" in the 12 year history of the game...
The First one "Clean-UP Britiana" was I believe held in 1999 (which was held for 4 wks only)
the 2nd even "Spring Clean-up was held far more recently..
If your holding onto items waiting for another "Turn-in Event" you might have a long wait.....or the Dev's could decide to do it again
My advice? Hang onto items you like, things that friends may have given you and don't worry about the rest. If there is another "turn-in" they will have it for long enough everyone can get whatever they want .. i think the last "turn-in chest is STILL UP!

I actually remember reading one wont be happening for a while. The idea was to clean-up. Not create a yearly event where everyone hoards stuff to turn in.

Does anyone know if you can still get anything back from the Spring Cleaning 2008, I handed in some stuff but never claimed any prizes, Im sure its to late now, But was wondering if I would be able to collect a prize from what I handed in way back then???
If you have reward points in the chest or if you have a ticket with points (which you still can add to the chest) you should be able to claim rewards...
I have missed both of them...imagine how much crap i got.

I dont think we will be getting another event like that for some time. But we should be getting turn in for the rebuilding of a whole city so lets see how that goes

So throw it away. Or sell it and use the profits to buy stuff from the last Spring Cleaning.

The first one served a purpose, to clean up all the crap laying around that didn't decay that was bogging down the servers.
The second one pretty much encouraged farming/creating more stuff to hand in, and now people hoard even more in anticipation of another round.

Back in 99 some of the Devs said it was going to be an annual event. However, after it was over, people started hoarding stuff to turn in the next spring, so it defeated the purpose and the next year came and went without a spring cleaning. Back then, all of us players were looking forward to getting the rest of our Phoenix armor sets. I had a gorget and leggings. I also wanted another item bless deed; I used mine on a Katana of Vanquishing, and I wanted a blessed halberd. Also, my katana was getting a little weak from repeated use, so I would have had to try to get a second item bless deed for another katana before that one wore out. Unfortunately, despite overwhelming player enthusiasm for the idea of keeping the spring cleaning system, the next team of devs had no interest in continuing it.
I hope that this time around, they do keep the spring cleaning event. It's great fun, even if it doesn't do anything to remove the clutter. Giving us players a fun incentive from time to time is great for the health of the game overall.
