Splintering Weapons

When the splinter/bleed effect goes off. Does that reduce the durability of the weapon?

I ask because

1. I am at work and can't check it myself
2. I vaguely remember it being stated
3. I can't find anything official on it
4. I have seen it mentioned

Yes, the splintering effect breaks off a piece of the weapon causing the target to bleed and forced to walking speed, and in exchange the weapon looses 10 durability.
