There are a few things to consider about pvp weapons (thats all the spintering is really good for)
- Weapon specials: Bokuto is by far the most popular because it has nerve strike, Pick Axes have disarm and double strike, Kryss is a great poison and armor ignore weapon. You generally need to think about if the weapon special makes sense for the most used pvp builds. You might get all the perfect rolls, but have it on a useless weapon like a radiant skimitar (whirlwind and bladeweave are useless for pvp).
- Most sought after rolls: you generally want splinter 20% or more, hit spell 50% and hit lower defense 50%. that combo is the most popular and valuable, but things that are just split hld or splint and hit spell still sell for 50+mill. other rolls are nice only if they are useful to pvp, but dont add a ton of value. after the top 3 mods, spell channel is great for bokutos if it for a mage. that is probably the 4th most sought after mod. a dexxer wont care about spell channel.
- clean weapons are going to last as long as you powder them, but a brittle weapon can still sell for 100mill if it is a clear winner. an awesome brittle weapon can still be used, but it is probably going to sell for 50-100mill instead of 2 plat+
- elemental damage: this is a nice to have but only if it has good rolls and is the proper weapon type. poison cold and fire damage are nice because you can cast spells to lower someone's elemental damage resistance. (curse or corpse skin)
a clean bokuto with 30 splint, 70 hit lightning, 70 HLD, all poison damage and spell channel would probably sell for 5plat or more (one might not even exist, but there are probably an ok amount that are 20/50/50 )
best and fastest way to check if a weapon is good is to simply vendor search for that exact weapon to see what it is listed for. take the cheapest price as a gage of what is realistic. my gut says that broadsword is not more than 10-20mill. only 1 of 3 sought after mods, no elemental damage and broadswords are not popular because of slow swing speed. and armor ignore is capped at 25 damage for pvp.
