[Magery] Spellbook And Magery Weapon

I'm thinking about starting a mage character, and was wondering about the "one handed weapon" while holding a spellbook idea. If you had a dagger (one handed weapon) why can't you hold a spellbook in the other hand? I thought both were one handed weapons?

You use right hand for both so it will not work, you can hold shield and a weapon/ spellbook at the same time.

You also cannot hold two daggers, it is consistent.
