Spell Damage Increase & Summoned Pets

can anyone tell me if sdi has any affect on the damage or health of summoned things like energy vortexes?

SDI only affects direct damage spells (ex. fireball, flamestrike, etc).

Correct, the only way to boost summoned HP is by using the spellweaving spell Arcane empowerment.
