I'm pinging in the 20s running a high end system. I'm running on foot from Yew to Justice on GL and this guy literally blows past me on foot like i'm standing still. I was thinking about toying with PVP again and this pretty much convinced me not too bother.

Yeah... I guess I'll never understand things like that. I understand wanting to use every advantage available, but at a certain point you probably should just admit to yourself that you're not a very good PvPer if you have to use these tricks.

If so, EC couldn't finish loading all the entity data from the server and showed you the barest form of the entity.
Please note that a mount is also part of that entity data, and thus wasn't rendered.
If this is the case, that guy was mounted, and thus had mounted speed.

If hes pinging 20s there is no reason why the server wouldn't be able to load server data.
Speeder usage is rampant in this game & UO/EA has no plans to change that.
If your looking for pvp ur best bet is..... find another game.
BF3 and soon BF4 is my pvp release, certainly not UO.

This is NOT speed hacking. I've seen it happen. It's weird, you're in a party with someone who's fully dressed and riding an ethy, you go off screen from them and when they re-appear they seem to be in their underwear and running like Usain Bolt.

People who have lived in tram their entire entire existence have no clue, and their opinion is worthless.

Budman23... No one "lives in tram their entire existence". This is a game. They may play the game in the Trammel facet. The opinion of any player is as valid as yours. I assure you.
The use of speed hacks is a way over blown excuse many use. Hell, I have been accused of speed hacking at a ping of 80 or so. There are many other reasons a glitch can occur making it seem you are being out ran. many PvPers have told me that speed hacks really do not help and often hinder the player.
At any rate... let's tone down harsh language.
Cheating of all sorts and false accusations of it are both alive and well.

When you make comments like this the whole pvp community laughs at you.
Allow me to post a few videos where no Mythic employee can explain the speed of the user and i will.
They will also get deleted immediately.
No one cares to fix it, they think it doesnt effect the game, how wrong they are.
I think you forget i come from one of those guilds of over 100 players, i know whos using what.

Your post bears little obvious relationship to the post you replied to.
I specifically admitted cheating occurs. False accusations of cheating, however, also occur. I know this because I have been, with a rather bad ping and no speed-hack, accused of speed-hacking.

In theory, let's assume you are correct.
Even if it is capped server side, the cap has to be set to what the fastest a player can be set to move (ninjitsu wolf form). So, even if it is capped, players in theory using a speed hack could move up to that speed not in wolf form.
There are other ways as well, in theory.
I'd argue there is no cap for as much good as the supposed one does.

When a newbie complains someone is cheating and everyone looks the other way we can say hes silly.
When people over 10 years playing say it and everyone looks the other way, you dont really care to fix it.
When you leave obvious probems in the game without caring to fix them you cant complain when others laugh at the idea of playing it.
Most pvpers have stepped into other games even if they play Ultima they do NOT NOT NOT have these problems, meaning ultima ALONE has this problem, and if this is the case it deserves to be made fun of.

to my understanding this is correct, although if someone was on a slow connection like mine a speed hack would be able to increase the speed up to server cap.. as for how you do other things in the game that may be a different story.
but no forms are faster than other forms or not being in a form... unless you are talking about a form that doesnt permit running.

I remember when i first switched to the EC because it lagged me less. Im on the west coast playing on Atlantic and people say im speed hacking. Not my fault the EC doesn't have tombstones. On CC (which i still love and think looks better) I skip around the town but on the EC im smooth, that makes no sense to me.
See it all the time in the EC and my connection is NOT spotty. Ping in the 20's with no appreciable lag at any time of day. This happens when partied with guild members and they get left behind running or go offscreen and often on ships sailing.
I do not play in the EC, only the classic client. Once the comment was made of this happening in the
EC I stopped replying. I can not intelligently speak on a topic of which I have no experience.
I would tend to believe Petra and several others who have offered similar explanations.

shhh... the youngin's don't know who those two are... let us older folks keep something just to ourselves.
Since the observed incident has reliably proven to have not been a case of speed hacking I think we can consider this thread resolved.
