Spawn Mage

Hey there,

I was going to make a mage to do Fel Champ Spawns.

I was going to stick to what I know, and do 120 mage, eval, med, resist, necro, SS.

However, I have done a lot of reading on here, and it would seem to be common knowledge that I will never be able to solo a spawn with that template, so....

I was thinking maybe

120 mage, med, eval, focus, mysticism, resist.

I think with this template, I could cast RC and have him attack the champ and then I just cast some spells on it to help finish it off.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have not played for over 4 years, so I am not 100% sure what is the best way to do things. I have always played a mage. I build a Sampire, but am Dieing on it to easy creatures just because I am not used to it. I wanted to try to go back to my roots as a mage and try that.

You can solo a Vermin Horde spawn with a necro mage. In fact, I wouldn't do that spawn without wither.

As for an overall spawner for the rest of the spawns, I would look for a sampire variant. Check the warrior forums for ideas.

You may be able to do it with a mystic, but I think you will get into mana trouble without wraith form (which requires SS for decent mana leech).

I think a template that is human, uses items to get into wraith form with SS for the mana leech with full spellweaving and mystic/focus is the best bet. Hail Storm does excellent damage with a slayer book to most levels of spawn.

If you could build in weaving for WoD you have a pretty good build.

As for the champs I won't do them on anything other than a sampire.

You can do it on that template if you bring correct slayer book.

One of the best solo spawn templates is the Necro/Tamer. You're able to wither Lvl 1-2 very fast and use a Pet for champ at end and higher end spawn.

Sampire works great too.
