SOTD was for fun and to gauge clasic shard interest but......

There are some issues the devs really might want to take a look at if they truly are attempting to see if the SOTD is some kind of indcator of interest in aclassic shard.

1. Now all the healers are gone from moongates. It was annoying when 87 healers crowded the gate in the first days, but this is worse. Most deaths it is faster to run clear into a town healer.

2. Glass swords were the most illconcieved thing I have EVER even heard of in UO, and it was a good move getting rid of them at the shrines, but there is still one, and tha should be removed.

3. Most spellcasters cannot get the high end spells. That takes away from the PvP, as well as the PvM, to get more crap to go PvP with

And as long as I am typing, I see skills can still be scrolled to 120, but the skill cap is 700, Why?

The first 3 things I mentioned will be big turn offs to many players. If the Dev team is going to look at this later and say"look see, I told you not enough people are interested" Then the above really should be fixed, or come December SOTD will be yet ANOTHER UO ghostown.

But, May all be moot, as it is a temp shard, I just figure, if you are going to do it at least put a little effort into making it right.

Edit: and are the purple turtle medusas, supposed to turn you into Stone, UNTIL THEY,OR YOU ARE DEAD? Cause that is what happens. I have GM resist and trapped pouches, but once turned to stone, nothing breaks it. I sat for 2 full minutes as a redlined blue healer finished one off, and I could do nothing but watch. The second it died I was free to move. I would try Gorgon Lenses, but.........

Hi, not certain if anyone is going to read this or if you would like to continue the arguments. But, the interaction here has been interesting to watch.

Shard of the Dead is an old play area that we resurrected for Halloween. The gameplay is experimental. This is not an intro to a Classic Server.

Recently, someone asked when Test Centers were going to be fun again. So we put Shard of the Dead together for Halloween.

The ideas come from a few styles that devs have played with over the years. We intend to change the play over time. The good thing about the shard is we can change anything anytime until we find the right mix of ideas.

We may try color wars again ... or a few other things.

We are leaving it up to watch what happens, and to add and take away things.

A warning: don't believe anything but the publish notes. The Shard of the Dead is nothing more than what the pub notes say.

Yes, Curse.com got a sneak peek. He actually added some ideas, and he did it constructively.

Again Shard of the Dead is a play area and not intended to be anything more than that.

We have not had a place to just try out things in a while.

Cool, I had not read that. So, SOTD = huge waste of time, back to pac and finish consolidating, to close up one account.

SotD is a way to gauge developer stubborness. The longer glass swords stay on the shard, despite every single UO player hating them, the more stubborn you know they are.
