Basically an info-dump list as I find each little bit of info. Most of these are in the Dev v-logs and interviews with Lord British.
- Each "hex" on the overland map will expand into a 3d area. Some areas will be obviously marked as point of interest (towns, camps, etc), some will be "empty" areas or areas for resource gathering.
- PvP thus far is being controlled via sieges and questlines. Plan is to make sure that new characters are NOT pushed into a PvP situation and that such quests will only pop up after your character is somewhat advanced in skill.
- Steps will be taken to combat "gold sellers" (post by mod on SotA site), however, LB's interview with Markee Dragon shows a less antagonistic view. This could be a disconnect between LB and team, or possibly an attempt to limit the scriptors/spammers without harming the average player that may make an RMT deal with another player. Clarification still needed.
- EXP and Skills have been touched on, but it's still not clear how the system will work.
-Crafting will not require combat skills, but they're also looking how to avoid the macro-grind of UO's skill system.
- Pets and Seasonal Weather systems are likely at this point ($1.1M and $1.2M stretch goals, currently at the low end the project is pulling $20k+ per day and has 17 days left. If each day matched the LOWEST contribution day from tomorrow through the end of the Kickstarter, the end result would be over $1.4M)
- Expect new ingame characters based off the RL people behind the Ultima series characters.
- The weather stretch goal refers to weather that will impact gameplay, not just an environment effect.
- There will not be a subscription needed to play Shroud of the Avatar
- Lord British has assured that his great Kingdom shall be free from “Pay-to-Win”
