In the aftermath of the PlayStation Network downtime, Sony has announced a “Welcome Back” program to demonstrate its appreciation for PlayStation Network customers in North America. All U.S. and Canadian customers may choose two of the following PlayStation 3 games free of charge:
  • Dead Nation
  • inFAMOUS
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Wipeout HD + Fury
Additionally, owners of the PSP may freely download two of the following PSP games:
  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation
These titles will be available for download 30 days after the PlayStation Store is restored. All downloaded titles will last forever, so customers are advised to choose wisely. Aside from free game downloads, Sony will also be providing a number of additional services:
  • Free movie rentals for one weekend (titles yet to be announced)
  • Free 30 day PlayStation Plus memberships for non-Plus subscribers
  • Free 60 day PlayStation Plus memberships for current Plus subscribers
  • Free 30 day Music Unlimited Premium subscriptions for current Trial subscribers
  • Free 30 day plus time lost Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscriptions for current
  • Premium/Basic subscribers
  • 100 free virtual items and other assorted free content
Although full functionality of the network has yet to be restored, it appears that PlayStation Network customers will have a lot to look forward to once the problems are rectified. According to Patrick Seybold, Senior Director for Sony’s Corporate Communications & Social Media, “As a reminder, you will be able to access the above content shortly after services are fully restored. We are doing everything we can to make that happen as soon as possible.”

They are also making good on other departments, SOE have given free playtime for many of their titles.

Im surprised that they still have problems managing anything not northern US related when it comes to various things. It really shows that even though they are working on getting better, they are still years behind on many things internet related.

Seemed that Sony lose at least 140 million dollar this time...it was really a tragedy for both sony and psn users
