We are all thieves here, sooo.....

what was favorite thief movie or series? There was old year long series- almost impossible to find anywhere, called T.H.E. Cat from the 1960s, that was ahead of its' time. Was about ex-cat burglar turned body guard, which this one thought quite good.

Green Ice. Thief. So many to choose from.

What are yours?

I think its got to be HEAT, with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino

One of the best lines(and i assume the most accurate) for a crook, cant remeber exactly but its on the lines of

"never have anything that you cant walk away from and be gone in 8seconds"

Add to that 2 of the greatest actors alive!!!(oh and theres a few no names like Val Kilmer :p as well)

Its old, its black and white, its probably considered more of a kiddie movie, its also a book....

Oliver Twist!!!

Whats better than a gang of pickpockets? erm...I mean "receivers of stolen goods."

It almost inspired me to make a guild called the Saffron Hill Gang. Almost. :)

I always found the Ocean's movies to be quite entertaining.

I'd have to go with Heat. I was struck by how the guns in the firefight drowned out voices, and you could hear the loud echoes off the buildings. Lot of attention to detail in the whole shootout, more so than any other movie I can think of, even war flicks.

Blue Streak with Martin Lawrence is a good comedy about a theft gone wrong. But I also like Dog Day Afternoon if were talking older films....

Kelly's Heroes, with Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Don Rickles, Telly Savalas and others.

That's the best fictional theft ever.

Another Clint Eastwood film that's less about the theft than the adventure, so comes in second in my "Thief" movies is "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" (Three people trying to steal the stolen gold, fun!).
