Something interesting happened to me

I was making pots using UOA with a "make last" macro that repeats 120 times. I was leaving my house for a couple hours and hit the macro as I was leaving thinking that it would run through the mortar and pestle I was using then stop and the account would eventually time out. Well, I come back a couple hours later and my char is still online, but my blue beetle is gone. Now nobody will probably believe this, but I am totally sure I was still mounted when I left the house. Totally sure of this, yet my beetle still vanished. I logged out then back in and still no beetle. I'm not complaining because beetles are cheap, I just thought this was interesting.

Also I have notice some other interesting things lately. My archer will randomly pick up arrows off a corpse though I did not attempt to do this. NO I DO NOT USE SCRIPTS, THIS IS HAPPENING ALL BY ITSELF. Additionally I had several bags in my bank box opened when I was making pots, I logged out then back in an hour or so later, open one of the bags, and the other bags opened by themselves. I know both these things sound strange, but I am being totally honest, no third party programs except UOA.

Very very interesting.

another thing that is hard to believe, the gm's will ban you for macroing, even in uoa if you are afk!

i believe if you leave a bag or bank opened and logg out when you log back in it will reopen, kinda like your backpack, but not pos.

Some time ago I recall that they changed it to where you auto pickup arrows/bolts off ground and corpses. I think it was when quivers entered the game.

Are you wearing a quiver the blessed quiver of infinity or whatever because it has the ability to "recover" arrows you fire with the lower ammo cost property.

Hmm..didn't know that about the Quiver...cool. Thanks for asking about it.

Too bad about your beetle, that's odd. Those little things bug me, I always wish I could know *why* it happened.

Your beetle may have just gone wild out from under you. I've seen it happen.

Dont think uoa can do 120 loop because you have include and delay and use item type line.

use item type
menu selection
wait 1s
repeat

you just wont get 120 loops with that

actually not even sure you would get a full 40 have to test it.

[/ QUOTE ]What I do is this. I make a morter and pestle, then I press the record button on UOA and keep pressing "make last" for 120 times, then press stop. From then on every time I want to make large amounts of something I just make the item once, then hit the macro and let it run. It's very convenient.

strange that never works for me without the other lines and wait times

(True but one would have to show up first and to see a GM in this game these days is like seeing Bigfoot. )

Unless youre shard has a really annoying idoc scout whom has never even used uoassist and is still called the biggest cheater on his shard and he is so tired of it he makes it his personal playstyle to page on others that feel there time is more imprtant then mine and use a miriad of shortcuts or cheats and he pages on them if he sees an obvoiuse scripter.

Pretty sure quiver just needs to be in backpack. Not even wearing it you will still recover arrows and bolts.

I have a 'make last' x 99 macro for keg filling. If the tool breaks mid run the macro stalls.

By resetting the 'use item' first line I can also use it to make lockpicks.

Some things seem to take longer to make than others. I can't use a 'make last x #' macro to make something like barrel staves, for example, for those you need the delay you mentioned.

Usually while my keg macro runs I'm chatting in irc or icq on my other monitor.

Pay attention, EA, this is something important. This is where it's obvious that it's breaking down, and that your refusal to do anything about scripting has taken its toll. Here we have a guy casually admitting to unattended macroing, without fear because GM enforcement is non-existant, and it's not even the point of the thread. It's just a casually accepted side-note.

It used to not work for me, when I was on dialup.

Ever since I switched to broadband, I've not needed the wait times for my crafting macros

(and I only use 10 & 20 run ones to make items to fill BODs, to save my poor fingers some work - I still end up filling BODs the old fashioned way)

You'd be surprised.
If there isn't any player paging on you it's ok. But as cheating and botting has been making people more and more upset, there are a lot of chances to be paged on if there's a player passing-by who sees you.
GMs are more efficient than U.Hall rumors say.

And of course, you're macroing unattended, so whatever problem happens to you, we don't care. Stay in front of your computer and the problem won't happen.

Well you already know you shouldn't run macros while not at the keyboard, so I won't offer any comment on that.

If you save your journal, you can look back to see what happened while you were away.

Without journal log, for solving the mystery, more details would help.

Was the beetle bonded? Someone/something might have dismounted you and killed the beetle and the corpse decayed while you were gone. For your char to remain online and not time out while idle after your macro finished playing, something needed to be targeting it, I think. Was your char in a private house at the time?

And the arrow recovery doesn't just happen for the quiver of infinity. I use a regular crafted quiver and I get the "you recover X arrows" message all the time after shooting something.

Where are Mulder and Scully when you need them?

Maybe they are somewhere trying to unload a blue beetle for cheap.

hey, maybe this ties in with the 200k hinges being sold on a certain vendor in Moonglo last year.

Uh, I'm sorry... but you are breaking the rules. No matter if you're using UOA to do it or not... unattended macroing is against the rules of the game, and I believe you're aware of that.

Please don't come to a public forum and admit that you're cheating, k?

Kinda like recording yourself breaking the law, and posting the video on YouTube... DUH.

Ya it sucks. Had it happen to me on my merchant on Atl. Was at rares festival and went wild. Lost around 20m cuz of it. I made it back for sure, but still. Luckily for me Treyster and a few others were around that were honest and gave back the stuff. One guy grabbed bag and ran.

That would be my guess though on beetle. It went wild. Not sure where it would have gone too though.
