Some questions on detect with tracking and passive detect

Ok, so I know tracking is easy if you already have GM detect. But is there any bonus to having both detect and track?

With GM detect I notice that it dramatically raises your passive reveal. Such as almost anyone who stealths nearby will get revealed.

So does passive detect work if you are hidden and/or stealthing? So if I am hidden and someone tries to stealth nearby will my passive detect reveal them?
