Only for PVM, get 95-100 SDI I think I will be okay.

Without Vet I still can heal pet correct? (Never had a tamer!)

Problem with this template is that you won't be doing damage with your necromancy spells. Eval int determines damage for magery spells; spirit speak determines damage with necromancy spells.

You'll probably have to choose between mage damage or necro damage for your tamer. On my necro/tamer, I left off eval int in favor of spirit speak, but perhaps someone else can offer another perspective.

P.S. Here's what my necro/tamer looks like:

97 med (120) +11 ring, +12 book
110 ss (120) +10 mark
93 tame (110) +5 BOB, +12 ring
110 lore (115) +5 BOB
110 vet (110)
105 mage (115) +10 book
95 necro(105) +10 mark

As always, suit has 100 lrc, 40 lmc, 9+ mr, 2/6 fc/fcr, and resists in the 60s. I'll bet it would be easy to achieve enough skill increasing items via imbuing.

Also, vet is helpful for a tamer, because in addition to enabling you to heal your pet, this is the only way that you can resurrects your pet aside from an NPC vet. At an NPC vet, besides the money that it will cost to res your pet (pretty pricey for a greater), you have to wait a while following the pets death to resurrect it. For PvP, this is OK, but it is nice to have vet for PvM.

shiz.....

So hard So hard to fit everything...

I think I will drop Eval and go with SS, Seems to have a better dmg spells duno though.

Through reading some of the other post it seems that Necro can hand out a TON of damage quickly.

The trade of is variety vs. area of effect. Necro spells do are of effect poison damage (poison strike) and area of effect cold damage (wither). On the other hand, mage spells can do fire, cold, and energy damage, but the area of effect spells (earthquake, meteor strike, chain lightning) aren't as strong.

For PvM, I find vet indispensable. My weaver/mage/tamers looks something like this:

Mage/Weaver/Tamer
110 taming (including your skill increasing items)
115 lore
110 vet
110 mage (wear a tome of lost knowledge for +15 magery to bring yourself to 11
105 weaving
100+ eval
100 meditation

You really needn't bring taming and lore above 115/110 or 110/115. You have max control at this level over every pet, including stubborn dread mares and fire steeds. Unless you're planing to use a mage weapon, you are fine with 110 to 115 magery. At 105 weaving, you'll fail to cast WOD occasionally - if you can figure out a way to bring it to 115, that'd be better.

Your above template will deal a lot of damage, but you're going to be in a bind in PvM. If you're doing peerless, for example, you may need to res your pets a few times during the course of the peerless boss - thus, peerless won't been much of an option if you are relying on NPC vets. :(

Hehe, well both are good options. I'm really hoping others will chime in - I don't want to be the determining factor. :D

ok so question. while in wither form, do you only gain mana back while casting on mobs with necro spells, or with magery spells also?

Both, but I think you may need both spirit speak and necro to cast wraith form. Could be wrong.

My pvm tamer

110 tame
110 lore
120 vet
50 chiv
100 med
115 Mage
115 weave

Chiv is for remove curse, I use mindblast for offensive damage. Weave is really powerful with a level 6 focus. Can solo all the rooms in doom easily. Has a 1500 luck suit before statue bump.

I can see that chivalry is handy for remove curse - although, couldn't you achieve the same with a talisman, or is the cool down time too long for your needs?
Also, what do you use 115 magery for? EQ? Without eval your summons will be dispelled very easily (right?) and your spells do little damage. Just curious, because I usually only have enough magery on my tamers to cast invis without fizzling.

As for the necro - tamer template: Syrus is right, doing necro without spirit speak is next to useless. Not only does it determine the damage of your spells, it also boosts the level of the undead creatures you can raise and increases your mana drain in wraith form.
In my opinion though, necro is difficult to match with taming, but I suppose it's a matter of play style. The mana drain is handy for sure.

I use the library tali to get to 120 for when I go to fel. I hate fizzling on rez's. Other than that 70 magery would be fine. I tend to fight stuff that mortals alot. I primarily use beetle bake so just leaving it be means dead pets. I guess I could tweak it a little, but I also like to exchange weave with eval every once in awhile. It is just so dang effective the way it is though.

Talisman cooldown is way too long against anything that uses mortal strike.
