I killed the infiltrators, but the matriarch won't talk to me to finish the quest. Do I have to do something specific to get her to talk to me again? I already tried a seed.

Solen Matriarch quest: what am I doing wrong?

You should have a context menu on her with the option to "talk".
Here´s how I do it.
I am friended so don´t need to give her a seed. But if you´re not friended, feed her a seed. I know you´ve already tried the seed but keep trying if you´re not friended.
I talk to her. She tells me to kill 7 infiltrators. I kill them and get a quest completed gump. I click it, "read" it and closes it and then return to her.
I talk to her again. She tells me to put 8 pitchers of water in the water supply. I do that and get a quest completed gump. Click, "read", close. I return to her and talk to her again.
She tells me to give her fungis and I give her 200 and get 100 powder in return. I take the quest again...

I have tried the "talk" context menu. She faces me and says nothing. Maybe I'll just quit out and start over.
My character is a ninja and I wonder whether the shape changing bug fix had any effect on her recognizing me from yesterday (when I could not change out of llama form).

Nope.
Here's where I am: I gave her a seed and started the quest. I killed the infiltrators and went back to the matriarch (which my quest log said to do). She won't talk to me now.

Keep trying. I had to click on her several times before I got the menu option to talk.

I quit the quest and started over and that worked fine.

ahh ok, I found when i had to see her and was on the hag quest to get the imp she would not talk to me till I cancel the hag's.
