So why are DC hammers so cheap now?

Hail,

I just got back from a small hiatus. Are slayers not in high demand anymore?

I bought 10 DC hammer for 10k and got 2 repond, 4 undead, 1 deamon and 1 reptile. Plus I got a gargoyle, scorpion, and dragon and a few high elementals.

Granted I am going to use them for my self and might sell a few. But are these in low demand now?

They may go back up a little with the proposed changes to runics, but realistically a dull can only produce 1 property and most ppl by this point in the games' evolution are looking for leeches/hld/hitspells on their weapons in addition to a slayer.

On top of that, all of Blackthorns Kryss's are UBWS, 50DI, super high swing speed and some life leech....along with being super slayers. These are easy to obtain and fairly cheap. Bigger than that though, UO just doesnt have a rash of truely "new" players, so most established players have a few slayers or two that are better than just "Slayer and 40DI".

I don't even bother filling the BODs. They've always been in low demand.

That was an unusually good run on the super slayers there. You wouldn't average that many superslayers for that few hammers normally.

Yeah for 450 whacks that's a pretty decent run of super slayers you made, especially the 4 Undead slayers.

Like others said though, there just isn't much demand for crafted slayers at this time. There hasn't been for a while now.

I rarely ever fill the BODs for DC hammers either. The only use I personally get from DC hammers is by giving them away to the occasional new player blacksmith. I've given bags fulls of DC and Shadow Iron runic hammers. It's been a while since I ran into a new player though.

I disagree with that just a bit. Hit Spell removes the damage increase from the slayer when it goes off. If your weapon has slayer, you are better of with another property than Hit Spell.

Not sure where that is/was found, I have never seen a lick of difference on any of my slayers w/ hit spells on them. They all hit for the same whether the spell hits as well or not.

But you are right...hit spell overall is not as sought after a mod, was getting PvP mixed up in there.
