So what´s the deal with the new moving "rules" in the Weald desert?

My pets will hardly move in there. They take two steps and then just stand for a while. Two more steps then stands still.

I can understand there´s spots where you can´t move at mounted speed and only walk but why make it so they can´t move at all?

Is this as intended?

Yes I noticed that they seem to have trouble moving in Twisted Weald's sand pit, really bad lately, but I couldn't put my finger on if it was a new thing or if the movement debuff always affected them this badly.
