It is with a heavy heart I bring this news to the Wonderful Folks of the Great Lakes shard. As many of you know Majestic Oaks Auction as a group has brought you three nights a week (most of the time) of in game, player run games and auctions.

Majestic Madness our Monday game night has closed its doors! Its been a long run (4-6 years give or take) of an alternative to Monday Night Football. Great William their manager, has come to the painful conclusion that with a lack of attendance and staffing crisis after staffing crisis the run is done.

Wednesday and Thursday night Auctions will carry on, and hopefully with luck some of those, as they have time, who have been regular staffers Monday Night will come in and help out, chat and visit. Stay in touch.

A special thanks to all who have helped out, come and played and given us such a great trip!

Majestic Madness had never required guest to bring or spend any gold except on the monthly casino night if they chose to come. Staff has never been paid at MOA we always have been and remain volunteers. We will still be around 2 nights a week selling goods, giving away gold and helping to support others on the shard who give back and not just take.

I need not justify our position within the Great Lakes shard, there have been, and still are many loyal patrons and fans of Majestic Oaks Auction's family of staff and events. Simply not enough folks to support the multitude of offerings on a weekly basis by many fine guilds and organizations on the shard and the diverse play opportunity provided by EA games.

First off I didnt ask you to justify yourself or MOA's position on GL.

I have and always will be, a fan of MOA. I have played GL for 10+ years now and have attended quite a few MOA events.

Second, I never implied that you nor any of the other "volunteers" for MOA were paid. Im not sure where you pulled that from.
I understand how auctions work and MOA has sold items for me as well.
However dont tell me that someone doesnt benefit from an auction, because most auctions that I have had sell items for me, charged upwards of 25% of sale price to put the item on the table!

Bottom line, my intention was to point out that if there arent any patrons spending gold on auctions, no sense on sticking around (employees are going out!). MOA in recent years has cancelled Monday nights in the past if I do recall, and it always came back?

You said if there were any goldies coming in the employess were getting out... sorry if I took it incorrectly.

MOA does charge a 5% fee on items put up for sale. It is this fee along with Casino night funds that paid for all the prizes given at Lets Make a Deal, Chest of Doom and Delight etc. This also pays for all the gold (on average at least 500k a night usually over a mil) given in trivia at auctions, the gold given Monday nights for contestant trivia or selections, it funds our Easter, Halloween and Christmas give aways (most of it anyway).

Great Lakes patrons and supporters do donate to us and are extremely generous, as are the staffers of MOA giving not only their time, but belongings and gold when the need arises.

Monday night has closed in the past or restricted to like 2 nights a month to get around scheduling conflicts with staff and come back. We've done all we can do, rallied, faded, rallied and faded again the time has come to just let it go retire.

You will see the castle still come into use for events which are larger scale than our auction house can contain. I want to thank you for your feedback, sorry if I got a little defensive.

Hope to see you on a Wed or Thursday!

Aww...I'm sorry to hear that Monday Night Madness is ending. Have been there often and noticed the dwindling attendance. Whatever the reason, knowing MOA, you guys gave it your best shot. Thank you to the Monday Night staff, (and the auction staff too) for all the time you volunteered to keep the people of Great Lakes entertained. Much appreciation and hope to see you all again soon!
