So I had the perfect Greater Dragon to tame

and two ****** bags messed it all up for me last night. I was there with my GD taking on 2 at once. I had them both to less than half life and my dragon was sitting at full thanks to my high MR and pretty decent healing skills. Here comes Merlin and some other tamer walking by and watched me for a minute. Merlin starts casting EV's on the two GD's that I was fighting. I politely asked him not to because I was gonna tame one of them. He holds off for a minute and then his friend the tamer gets there. The tamer starts attacking the GD I was gonna tame. I'm sure she knew this was the one I wanted because she probably animal lored them. It was a 2000 HP GD. I asked and pleaded with them not to kill it but they just kept on. I recalled out, stabled my GD, switched to my taming gear. 120 tame / 120 lore, recall back to destard and they are still killing it. It was red lined and i asked 3 or 4 more times not to kill it to let me tame it. They just laughed. I cannot believe how dik headed some people can be for no reason. I really hope to god karma comes back and bites them in the ass. I wish that they would lose their accounts...I understand this is just a game but when you bring in *******s who get kicks off of ruining other peoples fun for no reason what so ever, then it becomes the real life attitudes of others and it's not just a game.

I stayed in destard for another 6 hours and not once did i see another greater dragon that was anywhere NEAR close to that one. It had the perfect amount(max) of HP that is possible for a GD and it was taken away from me by two ****** bags.

You get this sort of thing in UO unfortunately. I guess some people just get enjoyment out of ruining the play experience for others. These are the same a$$hats that would talk during a movie, or not take their screaming child out of a nice restaurant.

Some people have no sense of decorum.

If it only had awesome HP's I wouldn't worry about it... if it had crappy resists it wouldn't last as long as a lower HP high resist GD anyways.

It does suck there are people like this though.

Sorry to hear about your experience, thamantii.

If you're still looking for a good dragon, the temple on Fire Isle is much easier to work in. I've rarely if ever seen anyone in there, and it's very easy to take the dragon of choice out somewhere secluded and tame it. Busier areas seem to attract idiot players when you least need them.

If you're not in Fel you just have walk away. Don't make a fuss because morons like that get great satisfaction if they know they really screwed-up your game time. Don't give them that satisfaction. Just walk away and say something like "just a couple of little children playing on their daddy's account".

Because nothing says "I'm a more mature player than you" like insulting parting comments implying superiority.

I agree unfortunately. You just at times like that have to not say anything. Especially if they were kids and they don't receive any reaction to what happened then too bad for them. The unfortunate thing about UO really is that anyone can claim a monster you have claimed.

Is a nice thing about some other games is once you have engaged the monster, anyone else is out of luck.

But, with all good things comes bad things. Those said games, the monsters are then camped. So, if you want to get "x" creature, you pretty much have to wait it out along with everyone else and "hope" you get the claim, or just not bother.

There are downsides to everything. Just lets be glad they are in the minority.

Just go to the fire isle temple, it's easy to lead off the spawn you don't want around and then just concentrate on what you are there for. I haven't tamed a dragon there but I have tamed tons of drakes for the zoo turn in, it's a pretty easy area for that kind of thing and you will get very few people who bother you.

Yeah the main reason i was upset was because it had 2000hp to start with. I have gotten a few 1900 +'s last night and pretty happy about those...but im still sore about that 2000 dragon getting away.

If the resists suck, the hp's don't mean squat. I wouldn't get hung up on hp's at all, I have a 823 point gdrag that is a total badazz.

So train the dragon up with the 1900 hp, cast bless on it all the time while training it, and you'd be amazed once it gets trained up in EI and starts casting bless on itself and the amount of HP it has then.

And another thing, if that's the worst that's happened to you, and caused you to get all upset and messed with the day you were having, get a grip, you don't have any problems, but that's a relative thing anyways. Considering the job I have, not much gets me excited, especially the small stuff like a video game that helps take my mind off of the real important worries in life from time to time.

excactly...thats what it is supposed to do but when other people's ******* attitudes get in the way of relaxing and "taking my mine off the real important worries in life" then it's not the GAME that's pissing me off...it's the limp **** person that's pissing me off. People always throw out the it's only a game crap and expect that to solve all the problems. It's more than a game when you deal with bastards and *******s.

Did this happen on trammie land?
If it did, I feel sorry. There's just as many punks and low life losers in tram if not more than in fel .
The difference is in tram they are just some punks that ARE going to **** up your day if they choose to. In fel, at least you have a fighting chance.

Of course fel can be too harsh to most UO players we have nowdays, but that's just another more realistic way of enjoy this game for many players.

I kept on trying to express that Fel isnt that bad. That worst it can happen is you lose some insurance gold. And thats assuming you are lucky enough to actually meet some other players there. In return for a tiny bit of added inconvience, you ARE free there. If you got pked and lose 3k gold, go back to tram and do some peerless and bam you just made a few millions...

the reason IMO the hps are so important to him was he wanted it for pvp the perfect pvp dragon resists are relativly unimportant. in pvp High hps for fire breath attacks high str and high wrestling are most important. Most players that kill dragons use some sort of attack that ignors there monster resists anyways
