so i decided to try the CC for a few been using the EC and..
Read title with the post. He is having trouble with the EC not the CC.

The title says that he has been using the EC, then he decided to try the CC and is now crashing upon recall..... at least that is how I read it.
no, the CC.. its unplayable
it crashes when i recall, it crashes when i take a trade.. it seems to crash a lot more then i remember.
Yes the CC is unplayable... not to mention ugly...
and good luck finding stuff in your house or pack.
Stick with the EC ..... try pinco's UI if you haven't yet... you won't ever care about the CC again.

Unplayable? Funny what have I been playing on for the last 14 years? Everytime I use the EC it crashes to desktop at the worst time possible.
To begin with the CC is NOT notorious for crashing upon recall, Sorry.
I only use the CC and DO NOT have this problem.
Try the uninstall/defrag/install/defrag.
I use 'Smart Defrag" Defrag and Fully Optimize setting. This may take a long time to do the first time but you might like the way you programs load and run after doing it.

Er, I've used CC since 2005 when I returned and never experienced a recall or sacred journey crash ... to anywhere. Really! I would suggest that it is not necessarily the CC itself but any of several other issues that may contribute ...
1. how recent is HD defragged? EA still recommends doing that periodically.
2. What other software is running when you start up the CC? It used to be ICQ running on CC start caused issues.
3. How up to date are your drivers?
4. Is it possible components of the CC are corrupted and it simply needs a reinstall?

<chuckle> I didn't ever crash in the EC but to me it was the ugly client.

^^ This ... and I too recommend Smart Defrag. It does a good job.
Mmm, delicious CC never crashes for me. Maybe because I feed it well...
Another vote for Pinko's UI!!
It makes the EC playable to me, with it the cookies taste better!

Ditto! I`ve tried LOTS of times with various UI`s and the EC never kept my interest even though I loved certain parts of it. With Pinco`s....I`m hooked. Changed everything for me. 
I think the few times I ever had this recall issue was actually several years ago and it was not consistent. I assumed the only reason I was experiencing it was lag. But since those few times recall is very smooth. The CC is VERY playable as long as you don't mind the graphics.

CC is like that very first car you owned that had no AC, no radio and u had to hold the door closed with your arm.

Yup, I never thought I'd be able to give up the CC. Change is always tough, but I'm glad I did.
Sorry to get off topic but, I just downloaded this to try it out. Do you use the original version and the gaming one generally?

The CC has never been a problem for me. I've tried the EC and do not like it at all. My preferred client is the CC and I enjoy the graphics of the CC much more than the EC. See?
