I got as far as loring the irksome little gits and the hell kitties and even the red rabbits before they quit spawning (non-tameable by legal methods, or they were by the time I got to thinking about trying it).

They were all low-to-normal stats/resists and once tame the imp had the usual blue (non-guilded)/green (guilded) colour name/health bars with no other discernable method of singling them out as different or event spawn that I could determine, so I didn't bother.

That would explain why sometimes when I attacked hell cat's, i got a criminal warning. *slaps her forehead* some git was taming them and not releasing them.

*Whistles innocently*

Wasn't me since opportunistic, cheap-shot noto-pking just isn't my bag, and I absolutely refuse to tie up my five precious follower slots in that manner. That said, it's a clever little tactic, isn't it?

i have 4 lil red imps sitting in my stable... the curiousity i have is just how rare they will be, not a mount and i can imagine nobody would use one out killin stuff... but if nobody else tamed any then that would make them rare and just sumpin to stand around the bank with hehe

and the thing that would make the imps discernable as event items is that the color of the imp itself is red instead of green

You will likely find that is client dependent. If I'm not mistaken, my Second Age acct (deliberately not upgraded) displays imps as red, whilst my ML & 9th Anni accts show them as green.

I'm not sure what colour they are in KR since I've lacked the time of late after a serious road traffic accident and playing catch up at work & further education to download recent patches let alone play in that client.

I hope they turn out to be rares for you. I just have my doubts as to desirability especially if the rarity factor (pet colour) is limited to certain clients.

id assume in KR they will be red and normally should be green, during the invasion they started as green and then draconi said he was changing them to red for the occasion

Pair your two firesteeds with a cute red imp and you could have some fun I think. I can see how there might be a "market" for them. Or do they take 2 slots?
I might even consider...

I was under the impression that regular imps take up 2 slots, thus making a 1 slot imp rare...maybe. At least, I vaguely remember the last imp I tamed being 2 slots...probably.

just unstabled one.. ya, the do take 2 slots, my bad hehe... thought i recalled them taking 1 when i tamed them, oh well...

regardless.. assuming only the 5 of them that i know of being tamed are the only tamed ones (unlikely) what would anyone guestimate the price of them being?

For something like this i would say 8-10m maybe. unless someone really wants they might pay more. I wish i would have thought of taming one when i was there lol

Apart from sentimental value, of course, I hesitate to place any gold amount on them at all. Factor in the requests for years to revert imps to their red colour given the enormous difficulty in spotting green imps in grassy areas such as Hedge Maze and some areas in Ilshenar, and I think the Magincia event red imps have a risky & limited lifespan as a rare pet.

Many of the legacy pets' rarity is only seen on using the animal lore skill to view the stats or resists or dietary requirements. My unicorn looks no different from any spawning in Ilshenar, yet on loring it you can see it prefers meat to fruit. In the same manner that I gave my own two carnivorous unis away years ago, one was given to me in the last six months (thanks Koris!).

On rummaging through one of my older tamer's stable slots, I discovered an old pre-AOS frost spider which deals physical & fire damage, rather than phys & cold damage as they spawn now. I traded that for some Europa gold cloth that I knew to be legitimately cut from sashes.

Rare pets is a funny old market and while I'm certainly no specialist, I personally wouldn't fill a precious stable slot with a red imp even with 8 tamers all with 10 or more slots each. Fortunately, I'm not the only tamer and the OP may well find a buyer for red imps. I'd also have difficulty in selling them knowing full well they may have a limited rarity, however, that, too, may just be me.

Alongside a meat-eating unicorn or ki-rin, or a fire damage dealing frost spider, or a legacy imp with nice resists, a red imp is likely to have limited value to most rare pet collectors.

If forced to put a gold figure on it, I'd go with a hundreds of thousands maximum rather than the million or more mark.
