Smuggler's Edge - is it broken?

Anyone use the smugglers edge these days?

I started using mine again tonight and have yet to receive any items other than gold/normal potions/scrolls. I have used about 70 points of durability with none of the balms, lanterns, or tool boxes..

Just wondering if it may be broken?

I am in Hythloth and I have 120 stealing... Kinda bummed.. Was hoping to score some lanterns this weekend..
