Smelting Val Ore

OK, so last night I decide to craft some Valorite weapons. When I go to smelt the trash ones down I get the message "you have no idea how to work this ore". My Smith is 120 and has never had any trouble smelting Val before??? This is my first time crafting after the patch. Anyone else having problems smelting Val ore?

120 is all fine and dandy but what is your mining?

Only Mining counts for Smelting Ore. That can not get to 120.

On the other hand i always wear my +5 mining gloves to have a little more boost to smelt the ore.
For some strange reason i have the most problem with smelting Golden ore instead of Agapite or Verite.

GM Mining and have never had a problem smelting Val after countless hours of mining.

Mining is required to smelt ore and weapons/armor made of or enhanced with colored ingots. The more rare the ore type the higher your mining must be.

Yeah, I had same problem the other day trying to smelt gold.. 120 smith/105 mining... Obviously just another bug that may never be fixed!

Just for giggles, was your metal setting pointing to Valorite ... or Gold ... or whatever? I have a tendency to leave it on iron and maybe it needs to be changed to match the metal? <shrug>

I'm assuming it was set to Val, as I had been crafting Val weapons. I don't know for sure, but will check when I get home. I made sure to have mining gloves on, etc....dangit, I don't want all these Val warforks!
