Small changes in game that could make a big difference

Im not here to ask for something big, and yes I believe I have been to almost every English speaking shard by now, so these changes represent a larger portion of the population, and of course, are always good for UO.


First, from this point onward, make sure every Christmas gift you give us comes with a chance at a rare box, do not make every box the same anymore. This most assuredly is a nice source of income, tied into the rule "you are too young to receive a gift". It is beyond reason why you would turn down such a max flux in income because you couldn't create a few fancy boxes. Im not talking a small number here im sure others can back me up here, and I am not even a rares collector and I notice.

Next I would like to see shame loot inside treasure chests (not on the monsters). I say in the chest because it will be lets face it the easiest change here, we wont ask you to reprogram monster to monster. But this one simple change could totally redefine treasure hunting, and finally get people to not throw everything away other than artifacts. Not only that it wouldn't just please the production shards but Siege also.

Im sure you will see others have similar ideas.

I miss the box.... I also miss having my Characters name on the item.. don't get me wrong I do appreciate the reward etc.... just doesn't seem very "gift" like if i have to work for it.

and yes I miss the box.

I don't mind the clickys ,but I rather receive my gift in my pack.
I really like to see the Ems getting to set up non holiday clickys once a month or every other month or so they last for 2 weeks.Was real nice seeing others helping each other across the shards find the clickys to get the gifts.

Personally I miss the items with my characters name a lot, there were so many possibilities back then, using the named items as roleplay props, or making a museum of your characters UO life for example.

Regarding the treasure hunting idea: While I doubt most of us would oppose this proposal does it really offer more of an incentive than, say, Mana Phasing Orbs (for most templates the best mage talismans in the game and occasionally good warrior ones too), or that rare deco thing (I forget what it is), for treasure hunting?

All gifts should come as a deed useable only by the character that received it. If the deed is opened in that characters house you get this group of rewards with uber rare chance. If opened outside of house another group of gifts chance with uber rare. This could open up some form of trading between home sharders and the naked guy that only sees a log in during gift time.

Don't forget a treasure chest also comes from the end of a pole. And the Dark Father and other boss level critters need loot that is worthy of even being unraveled.

I agree completely. I especially agree on the rare boxes. I love the neon boxes more than anything. The chance to get a really neat box could possibly encourage me to reopen who knows how many accounts.
