Slim's Shadow Veil Question

I've got the trade quest asking for 5 items.

Question: Are there penalties for cancelling trade requests? Will I eventually fall back to 4 items per box?

He won't get it if he cancels. He will have a new random city after a period of time.

Here's the deal. You only get to roll on the Rare items if you hit a 5x20 order (based on what rares I have received). That is a 1 in 1000 chance. Then you get a 1-10 chance for the Veil. Makes the odds 1-10000 to get the Veil.

If you have got a Veil on a non 5x20 order then I need to run all orders.

I'll see how it goes just trying for a 5x20. I do know that you roll on the rare items with a 5x20. However, a lesser order might work as there is not much info out there.

If you take a moongate you cannot roll on the rare items. Confirmed.

I don't believe you need a 5x20 quest to get a rare. I never heard that before. I doubt I have ever received many 5x20 quests, but I have received more than a few of the rares that Slim offers. Are you thinking of the Professional Fisher Quests?

Just completed a Trade Mission. There was only one 20 count item of the five in the mission I received. Just received "Expired Voucher For A Free Drink At The Fortune's Fire Casino". What are the odds of that?

He did not say 5/20. Trade routes work to 5 lines. Item quantity is random I doubt anyone has got the Shadow Veil before they were doing 5 line trade runs.

Ah I read the top post. So he wants to cancel all the non 5x20s?

I don't know the mechanics that well but I would believe what you said above. Shouldn't need to have 5 x 20 to get the rewards,

Good info that you guys got rares without a perfect 5x20 order. I've read elsewhere that folks who get 5x20 orders get rares. There is some scale due to the difficulty of the order. Also would be nice to figure out how to get ambushed.

I think ambush is 100% RNG based on timing of the run?? Does that impact the rare drop?

Good luck trying to get a veil. I beat this quest to death for weeks, got lots of the forged items..6 or 7 Slims books..that was it.

@Keven2002 An ambush supposedly gives you more 'points' for the turn-in.

@skett No idea if luck impacts anything. I am wearing my luck suit though.

I just did a 5/20 trade run. I didn't get ambushed, and I tried. (Seems that if you keep doing the trade runs and deliver to Slim you eventually stop getting ambused. Guess the ambushers realize your on their side.) Anyway, I got the trade order in Trinsic, walked across the land and put my boat in near Skara. Sailed all the way to New Magincia and walked to the docks and sailed across to Ocllo. My reward? A studded tunic with crap mods. The order before that one was 5/20/20/15/20 and I got a Expired voucher. Seems some info is missing on what gets rares and what does not. Of course if there was a trick no one would share that info with the Veil selling for 4P+ on Atlantic. If you do know a trick, PM me. I just want the Veil to put in my museum.

When you got that expired ticket; it was rolled and you landed in the 999 category. It seems like this one is SUPER rng'y.

I have and had a chest full of them that went right into the trash still have at lest 20 of them I think . There worth nothing and still dont have the veil

I've asked several people selling this in the last 2 years, how many runs? Of the 3 who told me it dropped, it was 6-10k runs, no moon gate. I didn't ask about the 5x20 though. It is a 1/10k chance, someone kept a tally on other forum, at 7.2k they said it must be broken. Dev said it is working. This person replied a month later saying they got it.

several windows, sail at the same time from same city to same city. Run with CC function follow.
Don't think it is very hard but definitely time consuming.

#1 Can someone please explain to me what is a 5x20 trade order?

#2 Can somebody get a roll on the shadow veil if they get a trade order in Fel Mag > simply fill a normal order for 1x20 > then go from Mag > Ocllo by boat and turn it into Slim?

5x20 means your order has 5 lines and 20 each of an item on that line.
It is like the max load you can have for a trade order
