Slime Tips and strategies

I have found the slimes on LA, but they move so fast that it is extremely difficult to click them and an item in your pack while they remain in range. Is there any rhyme or reason for why they sometimes stop and allow multiple dyings before moving on to be nearly impossible again? There has to be some tips people are willing to share to make this a bit easier and thus more enjoyable. Maybe a macro or a certain strategy. If not, I do not see myself chasing after these slimes much. Thanks in advance for any useful tips.

Wat about peacemaking!? Or maybe place items that blocks the movement path of the slimes to "trap" em in!? Or maybe get some players to surround it to block its path (would need quite abit)

Actually I would ask a GM b4 doining the 2nd option for blocking its path with objects....might get you in trouble...any hoo...back to sum search and destroy *waves*

If you can make them go aggressive on you, they will keep coming back to you and give you a window to dye while they are attacking. They don't seem to do serious damage (at least at the moment), so if you're patient, you can get your dying in this way.

But yeah, those slimes could give a vorpal bunny a run for its money - when they first swarmed me, I was terrified they were going to have some armor-eating attack or something.

Stealth & Shadow Jump (as the have a huge reveal distance). Should be good for 2 dyes before they get out of range, as they will immediately attack when you double click them.

dagger target the item you want to dye, then hit last target when you get the slime cursor. It really helps.

Only thing that I found to work for me was to stay OUT of war mode and get them to attack me...

So far they have poisoned me but appear to do no damage...

Would like to add in that I am bummed that you can only dye arties... would have been great to dye cloth or ingots...

*shrugs*

Have Fun!!!

If you have pets, have them guard you...when the slime attacks you, your pets attack it.

The more you damage it, the more it changes color. I am not sure what the low end colors on them are...something like bronze, to silver, to dark grey...but after a while, they start saying something like *an acid slime [Dark Blue]*

From there, if you keep damaging it, it goes to [Light Olive].

Some advice...don't waste time killing them. They cannot die until they go to Light Olive, and even then...it takes ages to kill them with high end pets.

I managed to kill one on Atlantic...and it was carrying exactly 10 gold and 2 arrows.

No point in it at all.

As for using them to dye things, just stand around them...get their nameplate up (2d) and keep dbl clicking that when they get close. I dyed like 30-40 things in about 30 minutes earlier...not hard to do.

I wonder if they will:

1 - Change into other colors beyond what we have seen.

2 - Begin to actually damage players.

Because on Atlantic, they hit you, and they poison you...but it doesn't do anything. I have suspicions as to why...but I have no way to back up what I think...so I won't say just yet! ;)

By the way, you can also dye metal items, if they have been enhanced with special ore.

Yep.

If you have a sword enhancted, or made from, a special ore...you can dye it. Same goes for armor.

You cannot dye Elven Quivers though :(

But you can dye the Quiver of Infinity.

On Baja the poison hurts!!! Took 3 arch cures from a 120 mage to finally get a successful cure.

I do wish they would let us dye cloth though. Some of those colors I would wear as a cloak or robe but not for my armor. But that's just me.

I am not certain, but I think I saw someone dye a vet reward robe.

Also, where on Baja did your slimes spawn?

Brit Farms. Aye I've heard that you can dye a vet robe possibly. But my crafter Mama makes most of my chars clothes so I really want cloth I can fashion into whatever. But still this is a Hoot!!!

A good strategy is to teleport beside them, and you will get at least one quick dye.

Another thing I discovered today: There is a real rare bright green slime, not the olive one but a brighter one, and it works like the bleach.

I had a Axe of Heavens that turned into a normal looking one.

ok I have dyed about 40+ items: this is what you do

1 go get quest from docks in jhelom
1a he will give you three bowls to die you can die them with one slime
2 go to slime designated area (be very car full here when the slime moves and if it is not in a guard area I believe you will take damage from the poison and it hits hard)
3 find a slime if you see a slime multiple attacking 1 person over and over ask them if you can try! the reason for this is when you dbl click on it it will try to run or teleport away or just keep attacking. if it runs and was attacking said victim it will come back if it teleports you could be messed up my best answer so far is walk slowly towards it if you can. try mounting and dismounting (this seems to draw them to you but make sure and get off before it gets there for some reason it seems to want to run from you if you get dismounted)
3a pet note dont bring your pets to attack it this does not seem to help at all and it will poison them very well I learned this the hard way if you do make sure they have max poison resist.
4 if you get poisoned do not worry you will take no damage or very little but do not leave guard zone if you are in brit fields i did this 2 times and all of a sudden i started taking damage big time this is with all 70's suit gm resist (so i am thinking if /and when they spawn in dungeons etc its gonna be hard)
4a tricks your best friend is the follow target trick . make sure you have a window up to click on to dye you may have to click fast but worked well for me
5 ok die your tubs and take them to the zoo in moonglow he will give you a deed for "slime hunter" title
6 the reason why to ask if you can try to dye when you come upon someone is every time they are clicked on they will try to jump or run (there are tricks to trap them with the mount your self the mountain and a tree but i wont discuss this here)

I can't try this because OCEANIA DOESN'T HAVE SLIMES.

But try parablow with an archer?

standing still seems to work best for me :D get his bar as he attacks me, stand in one spot, click the bar every now and then and the little bugger comes right back alongside me, and I have time to dye things...

the poison never hurt as long as I was in the slime area, but I recalled home and my health dropped to half and yeah, took three or four arch cures before I got blue again..... yikes!

southeast (I think) end of Jhelom, see the person named Lyla :)

but you do not need the quest to dye things, you only need the quest if you really, really want that Slime Hunter title

you don't need to do or be on the quest in order to dye stuff with the slimes. if you want a "Slime Hunter" title under your name, do the quest. it starts with Lyla in Jhelom on the North docks - she'll give you 3 bowls. then head over to whereever the slimes were (they have been in the fields W of brit near the mountain pass, not sure if they're still there) and double click the slimes and target each of the bowls. when you're done, head to Moonglow Zoo - the NPC to end the quest is right inside the entrance.

Only time the poison would hurt you is, there is an invasion in Brit or you run out of the guard zone, I found that out last night, was fine early on, but when I went back later that night, not realizing Brit was invaded, I died from the poison attack, elder mage and could not bloody cast a successful arch cure.
