Slayer Spell Book Question

Ok just getting back to the game after 5 years. Spell books with properties are a very nice addition. My question is does say an Undead slaying book increase damage to undead from all spells? EVs, Poison Fields, etc?

And...with these new greater dragons killing champ spawn bosses I cant even seem to get looting rights....is there a trick I am missing? Everything from level 3 that casts usually dispels my EVs so I end up doing squat for damage.

I did Rikktor, Barracoon, and Semidar....I think i got rights to Barracoon but not the others. They would be getting beat on by 10 different things but still had the time to stop and dispel my summons/evs without missing a beat (or me doing any damage). I mean I have a tamer but I really like doing spawns on my Necro/mage/Spellweaver(working).

I'm pretty sure the slayer books only affect direct damage spells. As far as EV's go, do you have poisoning on your template? I like throwing down poison fields, I find that if you keep them busy with poison and curing they don't have time to dispell your EV's.

The slayer property on a spellbook only adds damage to the direct damage spells (fireball, Ebolt, etc). Summons will not do additional damage. Use caution when holding a slayer book, because you will receive more damage from monsters of the opposing slayer type.

Well I have 68ish poisoning...its a sore spot. I was once GM Poisoning but when I started playing again a few weeks ago I picked up Spellweave....well being rusty I didnt realize that poisoning was set to down for some reason. So I am very sad. I worked poisoning long ago and used to have so much fun with fields. So I did cast fields but the harder casting mobs just cured then poof my EV's were gone.

I did actually get my first level 5 arcane focus last night...wow that wind spell is quite cool at that point....kinda makes a lot of monsters a little mad though. I got one .2 Magery SoT sometime during the spawn although i have no clue at which point. I did remember to poly before hitting that Succubus boss though.

Krrom. The necro mage is far superior to the tamer when it comes to working the spawn. The necro has one thing that is better then anything ellse, Wither. Make sure that you go into wraith form at you will leech back sick amounts of mana.

When it comes to the Champ itself, Baracoon for example. Make sure that you cast the right spells(ie against the champs weakest resist).
Corpse skin lowers fire resist even more, so when fighting baracoon next time, do the following.

Equip Repond slayer spellbook.
Enter Wraith Form.
Cast Corpseskin.
Then just spam him to deth with fireballs.

knowing what element a champ is weakest against is important too. as long as you have a slayer book and cast the smallest spell you can of the proper element over and over you should get loot rights to anything.

Its also worth noting that earth elementals are more resistant to dispelling than anyother summon.
