slayer necromancer spellbooks

so i reactivated my acct 2 days ago, saw slayer necro books.... spent 10+mil on some.... threw together a necro mage to check it out... and no extra damage whatsoever.... with neither wither nor poison strike
whats the deal? are the slayer names just for deco

I don't believe slayers do anything for necromancy...

Well, they still affect magery and mystic spells, at least, even though it is a necro spellbook.
I have never dwelt too much with necromancy, but I think whither should be affected by it.
I don't have a fully trained necro to try it right now, sadly.

Slayers don't affect ANY of the Necro Spells. Not Pain Spike, Poison Strike, Strangulate or Wither.

I carry a set of these on my mage PvM character. They are almost as nice as a scrappers with the SDI and a lot cheaper!
