I think I'm gonna try to make myself a sig..
Anyone remember where the thread was on how to do that?

And where do you find all the cool little pictures to paste into a sig?

Google images can find almost anything you are looking for. iStockphotos.com just went royalty free for millions of images.

I use GIMP to overlay images, whenever I need overlays or photos for presentations or websites. I've never made a signature for Stratics, but I start with a blank image of the overall size and then add layers of each image, one image per layer. That way I can resize each image individually, and move/recolor etc., until I am satisfied.

photo editing software http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ also you can use photoshop or google signature makers also if /i remember correctly its 150x600 is max size

GIMP looks intimidating when you first run it, but don't let that scare you. You are probably only going to use 4 or 5 functions to start with, and there are lots of instruction for GIMP available on Youtube and other places. I got a book from my local library. Take them one at a time and it's not really that hard.

What you must learn:
Tools - Select, Color Picker, Move, Text, Bucket Fill, Pencil/Paintbrush, Eraser, Color selector, Opacity (for GIF and PNG type images)
Image - Scale Image, Crop to Selection, Flatten Image
Layer - Scale Layer
Colors - Auto>White Balance, Brightness/Contrast
File - Save (saves your work progress, not your image), Export (saves the image itself)

Layers and Filters are really powerful, and you can do some really neat stuff once you learn the easy stuff.

You can create a signature with MS Paint, but it's not as easy once you learn GIMP.

Yeah, I guess you should send me the link for GIMP.. I agree that anything that keeps these rusty old wheels turning is a good thing.!
