Yes, I know they're working on it. But they started this mess on the 5th, and it's now the 18th (and today will be the 3rd day since the last peep out of them, so let's hope for some news!)

This is SOOO frustrating! Have codes. Want to use them! I know it's cliche to ask, but how on earth did they not figure out there was a problem with their REVENUE STREAM mechanism before they put this into place?!? It boggles the mind. I won't go so far as to say "Didn't they TEST it?!?" 'cause that's just silly, but geez, this is pretty fubar.

And didn't they just run a promotion or something trying to get people back into UO? Hey, here's an idea; next time do that AFTER upgrading the Acct Management system. Or, let's hope they're all ready to go with a HUGE marketing push for UO when this is done! It's an AMAZING game -- the only reason I'm putting up with the current mess -- and I think with just a little effort, they could revitalize interest in it.

Yep, it's incredibly silly. What gets on my nerves the worst is that I paid for the expansion the day it all went down. I called in and they activated it for me manually. I got to play SA for a few days, got 120 Imbuing and built another new character around Mysticism, and then the server somehow forgot my expansion. I can't use Myst, or Imbuing, or any other SA related content. It's very strange.

Top that off with completely oblivious support staff, and it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. The last time I called in, the guy asked me what game I was trying to play 5 times, and what web page I went to when I logged in to play. I don't think he even realized that UO was an EA game.

You guys are going about it all wrong....... Here is what you need to do!
This is my method that worked...... well somewhat worked!

1.)Make sure you have your accounts linked.
2.)Call EA Customer Support / Start Live Chat
3.)Wait 30-45 min for level 1 support to decide they cant help you.
4.)Get put back in que/hold for level 2 support.
5.)Wait 90 min for level 2 support to take your question.
6.)Get disconnected due to no support available after waiting 90 min.
7.)Go for walk.... decide to wait till next day
8.)Start back at #2
9.)After 2 hours finally get to talk to level 2 support
10.)Spend 20 min explaining what game you are having issues with.
11.)Level 2 support decides after an hour that they cant help you and
tries to buy your happiness by giving you a 90 day game time code
that you cant use until they fix their failed system. Before hanging up
they ask you to feel out a customer satisfaction survey to let them
know how happy you were wasting 6-8 hours of your life trying to
give them money to play an outdated/broken game. /end sarcasm

And that was just on ONE account.... They wouldn't even look into the
second account!

Yes they gave me an unusable code....... I would have been much happier with them just adding gametime to my account!

The hitch is, most likely you HAVE to enter a code. I'm willing to bet I'm not getting that free time now. =) My subscription says it ends in a couple weeks, so I doubt it was applied. Ill have to call in once everything gets sorted and see if I can get the code or whatever.

I'm still stuck with them on tier 3 .... thats UO/Ea speak for e mail talking only..... a big waste of time .... I did call CS again and found out they been working on this sence january! Not one heads up ...... like " hey guys we need you to consolidate your accounts to 1 e mail addy.... "

It's been over 48 hours now since I've heard from anyone about my linking problems. They asked for my account names to use for testing on Tuesday morning and that's been the last I've heard from anyone. When I check the account management site to see if anything has changed, everything seems to still be messed up as far as the nine-account limit per EA account issue goes.

It would have been nice to at least get a reply via the support site from the person that asked for the account names (or someone else on that team) to acknowledge they saw my response. Instead, I'm left to sit and wonder if anyone checked for my response or if my "case" has been assigned to someone who went on vacation or called in sick or something like that....

Wouldn't it be funny if my trial ran out before I ever actually got the chance to apply the codes I'd paid for? Okay, so, no, not funny. I'm assuming they'd extend trials if it actually took them that long (they've already extended my trial once from the switch-over.)

Hey, I know, wouldn't it be funny if I actually got so frustrated from all this mess (and my inability to play portions of the game that I want to play, but can't) that I QUIT before I ever got the chance to apply my codes?!?

Okay, so, no, I guess that wouldn't be funny either. I guess it WOULD mean disputing the credit card charges for the purchases though. (For services NOT rendered.) Maybe THAT'D get the attention of whatever higher-up decided to push through this obviously-not-ready-for-prime-time decision! Since it would affect their (EA's) bottom line.

Sigh. I REALLY hope (in vain) they get this mess straightened out some for this weekend. I'd rather just be PLAYING THE GAME. (When I'm not at work, of course. Couldn't play right THIS moment regardless. Which reminds me.... I have work I should be doing. :p

Well, no one would have been frustrated if they had kept using the system that was working perfectly fine...
Would love to be able to access SA & High Seas content... that update that was posted last night gave me hope that I would be able to finally upgrade today, but as you guys know it was removed and there hasn't been any update or any changes since.

Ya, I bought SA/7th character codes last Friday. Have the codes just haven't used them till they clear this up.

Will be pretty disappointed if this whole mess continues through the weekend.

Oddly enough, there was no hesitation whatsoever on their part for TAKING THE MONEY and charging the credit card for the codes....... (Isn't it typical no NOT charge a credit card until services are rendered?)

Geez, I hope we get an update today, at least some INFO. Got my hopes up briefly last night, only to have them snatched, like a pebble from my hand....

Some potential new uses for some of the UO skills:

(hope this doesn't offend anyone. see what happens when I get frustrated 'cause I can't use my codes:)

Forensic Evaluation: When used on a player corpse, has a chance to display the message, "Killed by the 2011 EA Account Migration".

Taste Identification: If you then TASTE that corpse, it gives the message, "Leaves a bad taste in your mouth."

New "EA Account Migration Manager" NPCs will spawn out in open fields, where they will wander about aimlessly. The goal is to use HERDING to get them all together in one place. Note that as an alternative, a combination of BEGGING and giving them gold can sometimes get them to cooperate.

New "EA Account Migration Developer" NPCs will spawn in the cities. They will have a quest available, sort of a mini-game, where you go around town using your DETECT HIDDEN skill looking for "Problems", which are ALL OVER. You must find all of the Problems to complete the quest. Note that there is no visible sign that a Problem is there (unles you use the Detect Hidden skill, of course) but if you step on one while you have the quest, it will blow up in your face!

I should get into the habit, when I return to UO after a few weeks/a month break, of reading Stratics BEFORE purchasing stuff from UOGameCodes.

I just got off the phone with a very friendly and helpful gentleman in support. Had a (very) few issues to start with explaining what I wanted, ("This was for Dragon Age?" "...No, Ultima Online.") but he pulled up the info reasonably fast and checked into everything for me. Apparently the migration process hasn't finished, and they can't even manually do the upgrade yet, but those codes will be accepted when it finishes.

I'd estimate it'll be as much as 2 weeks more, based on my experience with Turbine merging their LOTRO accounts.

(as far as the migration not having finished, LOTRO's migration took almost a month to get all the database errors ironed out, so I can be patient.)

I just read on EA's Support Facebook page and on the Star Wars forums that Star Wars: The Old Republic accounts on SWTOR were also migrated to Origin.com accounts and people are confused and having problems.

A thread from a few weeks ago, too bad we didn't see it then:

I'm trying to get a situation resolved with my Origin account. I have an old EA account that was converted to an Origin account. This is the account that I use for EA games, as well as my BioWare social account. It has a different email address than my SW:TOR account. Now it appears that my SW:TOR account has been converted to *another* Origin account, but I really don't want two Origin accounts--I'd like my SW:TOR account to be associated with my original Origin account, along with everything else. Complicating matters is the fact that my preorder registration went to the Origin account currently associated with my SW:TOR account--which is not what I wanted at all. I 'd just like to get everything onto my original Origin account.

I tried changing the email address of my SW:TOR account to match my old Origin account, but this was disallowed, presumably because that address is already taken in EA's Origin account system (which it is--by me

I submitted a request through the support page nearly a week ago to ask that this be looked into, but since then, I haven't heard a peep. I never saw any acknowledgment that my request had been transmitted or received, so I am left to wonder whether anything was sent at all, or whether the system quietly ate it. Perhaps the support staff is just heavily backlogged, but the prolonged silence leaves much room for doubt and uncertainty.

I'm hoping that a kindly administrator sees this, and can help me associate my existing SW:TOR account with my old Origin account, and possibly also help transfer my preorder registration from the new Origin account to the old one as well. Thanks for your time.
I was assured it's fine, I had upgraded had to make a new origin account. Contact BioWare customer support/pre-order and tell them the situation and see what they tell you. It usually only takes an hour or so for a response if that.
I did take up the matter with Origin Support on the weekend, actually, but the results were not encouraging. I'm told that my new Origin account and my SW:TOR account can't be disassociated at this point. I did ask about getting my pre-order registration moved to my regular Origin account (which would require me to open a new SW:TOR account using that email address.) The matter is being referred up the support chain, but I'm not holding out much hope that anything will change.

If nothing gets done, I'll just have to live with using two accounts. If Origin/EA decides that they don't like that at some point, I'll remind them that the situation was entirely of their making.

Of course, this mess is totally fixable, given one skilled person with access to the account databases. The problem is that EA's IT people haven't given their support people the tools to undo these messes easily--so "it can't be done".
That at least means it's probably getting a lot more attention than if it was just the existing MMOs.

It also seems like Battlefield 3 accounts maybe tied into this from what I read elsewhere.

But that also means that not only did they migrate UO, Warhammer, and Camelot to this system, they also migrated SWTOR.com accounts to it around the same time, and possibly BF3 accounts. Given that many SWTOR players probably won't realize this until the pre-orders ship, it's going to be interesting to read those comments. The ones who are noticing it on the SWTOR forums or Facebook are ones who tied those accounts to other games or were needing to look at something on their accounts.

The more I dig around through other forums for other EA games, the more I'm shocked about how badly this Origin.com thing has gone across multiple games, including EA's biggest games of the year (or next year).

I was a big supporter of it initially and it seemed somewhat logical to me to migrate everything over at once given what was originally said in the generic messages posted on the official game sites, but while I haven't had many problems outside of the missing slot, I'm amazed at how this has played out.

The rabbit hole does not cease to amaze.

Yes, I did.

And Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 are coming off of Steam, to be managed through Origin.com. This is from a few days ago:

Now Confirmed: Got no EA Account? Battlefield 3 is Not For You [Video] - International Business Times

and Battlefield 3 players only get one Battlefield 3 soldier/account. I'd say we're pretty damned lucky to have up to 9 UO accounts per Origin.com account:

But Matros specifically commented on Twitter regarding the ability to chose a player name in Battlefield 3 by saying “your name is linked to your origin persona“. It suggests that there would be only one player per Origin account, which is quite disappointing, seeing how the feature was available in almost all other Battlefield games (we’re not certain whether it’s possible to create multiple Origin profiles without having to re-purchase games). Unlike consoles, PC players have had a choice of not only choosing their name, but creating a new soldier and starting from scratch, if they so desired.
EA has completely outdone themselves.

They've pissed off UO, Camelot, and Warhammer players. They have pissed off a few Star Wars players and will probably **** off a lot more once they try using their SWTOR/pre-order accounts, and they are pissing off Battlefield 3 players.

This is epic.

It's a shame the gaming press isn't picking up on this. I know Ultima Online means nothing to them, but the possible problems for future "big" games like SWTOR seems like it would be news.

The Battlefield blogs are picking up on it and some of the gaming sites are slowly following suit.

BF3 doesn't launch until like October. When there's a huge flood of a million+ new players within a short amount of time, and they discover restrictions on the Origin.com accounts that they didn't have under the old systems, people are going to be pissed.

Well, we had "account center" update last night. Not sure what all that entailed (other than the account center being down for hours, which is fine if they're fixing things,) but... what did they FIX? EVERYTHING? Nothing? Every OTHER thing? I thought they said something about giving details during this process, or some such.

In any case, game codes (as of a little while ago) still not working, and I know they said something about getting to those AFTER some other stuff like charging subscription people. Funny, but the game code place (and I went straight through the EA store for one of my codes) DID NOT HESITATE to CHARGE me right away when I GOT the code(s) so long ago during this mess, but I still can't USE it.

Here's an idea, how about making the GAME CODE stuff WORK first, since that represents money that you HAVE TAKEN but NOT DELIVERED SERVICES ON. As opposed to going through and making sure you take in more money from subscription people (who, hopefully, are on hold 'til this mess is all fixed.)

In any case, it is what it is, and that is.... 18 DAY AND COUNTING (can we get a title change, please? :dunce: ) without being able to USE codes that EA/Mythic has ALREADY TAKEN THE MONEY FOR.

(Unless they've turned on, fixed, or done whatever other magic to make them work by the time I wake up in the morning...)

Seriously, though, I know they're trying their best, and I appreciate the "extended" trial to be able to keep playing in the mean time, but I REALLY would like to be able to access the 'FULL GAME' at this point, especially since the money has already been spent. (Wonder what happens if they don't the warm, fuzzy feeling for enabling gamecodes before Friday-Saturday, when my "extended" trial runs out.

I said it before, I'll say it again -- bad decision to run the program to entice people BACK to UO and THEN immediately fubar the account management system with this bad of a snafu. Common sense dictates: snafu FIRST, THEN get new people.

Just a small note--> They didn't actually run the 'Back to Brit' program to get people to come back to the game. It was turned on so that people wouldn't get locked out during this mess... they didn't even announce that it was back on for several days after initiating it. They have since found a better way to ensure people don't get locked out, (adding game time), and so have disabled Back to Brit. Mostly, people were using it to log into old accounts and claim Vet Rewards for re-sale.

Everyone just calm down. They have left four people to answer phone calls, the remainder will be back in a couple weeks from their corporate meeting in Hawaii to deal with any and all issues you may still be having. Just be patience and keep your wallets open, lol.:thumbup:

Okay, my bad on the name. But they did SOMETHING to entice people back to the game just before the account management system fubar. I know, because I'm one of the people they enticed. :-D Maybe it was just the 14-day free trial; maybe I'd seen it advertised someplace; don't remember. I had just assumed it was the "Back to Brit" thing. Sorry.

In any case, bad timing on their part. Now, codes are STILL not working, but they (EA/Mythic) ARE seemingly going through the system and LOOKING at submitted issues. I have two open issues and both got "touched" (looked at, but not resolved, since they're trial/game-code related) in the last 24 hours or so by EA/Mythic, presumably to make sure everything OTHER THAN game codes is straightened out. (Just an assumption on my part as to what's happening, but that IS what they said they would do.)

Here's hoping they finish that process and can turn on the game codes Real Soon (tm) :spider:

See here where this guy complains he was locked out of the game for 4.5 hours. I assumed he could apply the 30 day game time code when he got it, otherwise he would have also complained that he couldnt use the 30 day game time code.

... 9 months they have had to plan this. :dunce:

Well, now it's officially ... 19 days and counting.

19 days of not being able make changes to my account with regards to expansions, boosters, etc. and get OFF OF TRIAL and ACCESS THE REST OF THE GAME. But hey, I'm not bitter.... it's cool.... ;)

Just gotta sit right here and consider the fact that there are people worse off than I am. Yup. At least I CAN get in to the game and PLAY. SOME of it. Til the trial runs out. :danceb:

Paid money for codes, and THEY TOOK THE MONEY and CHARGED THE CREDIT CARD, but I still can't USE those codes. You know, if they could just get the codes into the system, they'd work, 'cause they've had this "code" thing around for a while. Just ... flip the switch.....:yell:

Geez, now at the 20 day mark, and still no codes. I know they've been busy fixing stuff and all, but this is ridiculous. Someone high up (who was involved in planning all this, coordinating it, forcing it before it was ready, etc.) should be SHOT. Err... just in the leg. Not looking to kill anyone. Yet. Just that someone high up needs to feel the pain. (I know that the people WORKING on the problem are not likely the CAUSE of the snafu.)

There HAS to be some working "gamecode" functionality laying around, fer gosh sake -- it worked BEFORE. Can we get SOME way to apply codes, PLEASE?!? Even if it means calling in to a human and waiting on hold for an hour so THEY can apply it to the account manually. SOMETHING?!?

Yes, yes, I saw!!! (After refreshing the UO Herald page every half hour for the last 3 weeks. :-D )

Was very excited. 'Til I tried to apply my code and got "This code cannot be applied to any of your current game accounts." :spider: Am waiting for reply from EA support, and wondering if this is the ol' can't-use-a-key-for-a-"new"-acct-on-a-trial-acct thing.

REALLY hoping to have this sorted out for my play time this evening. :sad3:

(But, YAY at reactivated code system!!!!) :thumbup:

Thanks. Fighting my way up the Support hierarchy right now. UGH. This is painful. :(

(Just as a clarification: everyone in support has been nice! not necessarily EFFECTIVE in this situation, but nice. (They're TRYING, but the having to explain everything over and over, and the infinite waits in the queues....)

Okay, so I was making a post about this:

"You are currently number 1 in the queue. We apologize for the delay. We will assign you to an advisor as soon as one is available. The average amount of time a customer has to wait is 29 minutes. "

which I'd been staring at for close to AN HOUR, just while I'd been at number "1", not including the time to get there. It was funny that the "average wait time" had been going down, and I was still sitting there at number 1.........

I was GOING to post here and JOKE about the fact that the one person assigned to UO support must've gone to lunch just as I made it to the front of the queue......

Then, I just got THIS:

"Status: Canceled
There are no advisors available to chat with you right now. Please try again later."

WTH. Seriously, WTH.

I am THIS close to telling EA where to stick UO, and disputing the charges for the stupid expansions that I ALREADY BOUGHT and have been waiting THREE WEEKS to use while they get this fubar straightened out.

GRRRRRRR.

If it wasn't for the fact that UO is such an AMAZING game, I would be soo out of here. I am THIS close.

I don't need this kind of stress. I play UO to ESCAPE this kind of stress.

So, I contacted support back again, (and again the person was nice) but (after explaining it AGAIN) I got this:

"One of our Senior Support staff members will review the matter and get back to you, via e-mail, within 24-48 hours. Meanwhile, we thank you for your continued patience."



WHAT IF I HAVE NO REMAINING PATIENCE?!?!?!?!?!?!?

ANOTHER DAY OR TWO?!?!?!

I feel your pain. I'm in the exact same boat. Thankfully I've had an open ticket with tier 3 since this mess began, so hopefully they get their rears in gear. I'd love to just make a new account at this point and get going (I'm in the process of shard hopping so it doesn't really matter), but that open ticket of mine was about them giving me 3 months play time for my troubles. I'd rather not lose that, along with my sanity!

Oh well, hopefully they are speedy.
