Siege Revitalization Project: Recurring Event 7:30 P.M. PST Fridays

We have not had an event for quite some time so here is my attempt:

This event is open to anyone. Whatever your skill, play style, allegiances or reputation I am not here to judge. As long as you come to participate without grief to the other event attendees, you are welcome to attend.

Hope to make this a weekly event, even if only one or two individuals attend or sadly if I am the only one...maybe with time it will grow to something all attendees can be proud of together.

First Event: Friday, January 7th 7:30 P.M. PST
Event Details: Despise Champion Spawn
Meeting Place: Jhelom Bank

Instructions:
- If you plan to attend, please post the name of your character here on this forum so the whole group will recognize you as a non-raider. [I.E. I will be attending as Holden Caulfield]
- EDIT: AT THE END WE WILL MEET BACK AT THE JHELOM BANK TO ROLL DICE FOR ANY SCROLLS/LOOT [Excluding Gold -> just loot/take whatever gold you get].
- If still available and you use vent, please use the public vent info found in Elmer Fudd's post.

Warnings:
- I recommend wearing nothing of value as we will most likely be raided. Hopefully as the weeks pass, the good will out-weigh the bad and any raid attempts will be squashed.
- With the above being said, anyone who shows up who has not posted their attending character in this forum will be considered a raid threat and can be freely attacked by the entire event group without repercussions.

Special Of The Week:
- All event attendees who finish the event in good standing (i.e. have not attacked other members of the event group) will receive a check for 100k gold just for attending the event. Even if we are raided within the first minute, you will still receive the gold. The gold will be handed out after the event at Luna Bank.

If anyone has ideas to help me or make this event better, please let me know. I realize not everyone is in the same timezones, etc but this is the time that works best with my schedule and hope to see some of you there.

Hold the event at a harder champ spawn. Do Rikktor. Give everyone chances at getting the sash and what not. plus if they loot the gold they can make a ton. More incentive to come to an event like this... Gold, possibility of sash, lots of gold on monsters and power scrolls!

Thanks, these sound like good ideas. Next week will do Rikktor. I have to research that one to be sure I understand it. Hope you will consider attending.

Spawns are more fun with PK's and raids (Don't expect us thieves to sit it out either!)

I only ask any other raiders take a note from us, and wait until the boss drops to raid. Every raid I've seen on siege went in, killed the people doing the spawn, and left the spawn to time out. Kinda ruins the fun for everyone, since with such small groups it's impossible to defend and keep killing spawn at the same time, it's essentially over right then. (I don't really get it either, 30 seconds waiting and the pks now get a full compliment of scrolls and gold instead of just dry looting the armor)

For the spawners, get a pvp group to protect you! If this is going to be a shard wide thing, don't leave a group out. Some people could go as dedicated sentries whos entire purpose there would be to fight off would-be pk's. (that's how we used to do spawns pretty much from when they were new until the day ML finally put the final nail in the coffin for fel on prodo)

Don't need that many people for it either, last night I actually solo'd a dragon spawn to the boss on my thief (didn't kill it obviously, no real way to on a pure necromage), so even if only 3-4 people show up to do the spawn 2 could stand guard. (makes it more interesting for thieves as well if we have someone to watch out for!)

I would suggest to actually splitting the loot if you're going to do a spawn, last one I attended and actually did killing, I killed enough of the spawn for 2 artys and 2 105's, but when it came to the boss only the tamers got scrolls, everyone else got to leave empty handed. It actually surprised me, I'd never once done a spawn before that when we didn't meet up after and roll for the loot (use the dice in game to determine picking order, and you take turns taking one single item at a time each). That makes it so everyone who contributes actually gets something, not just the tamers with GD's who tank the boss at the end.

I thought about that...in a perfect world. I just figured it would be nearly impossible to enforce splitting the loot amongst strangers and know who was honest with what they got and who just swapped out their good scroll with a junk one they had on hand. You are right the tamers will probably get the best loot in the case of a spawn, but hopefully these events will not just be limited to spawns in the future.

as it stands now, I can't make it to my job tomorrow, so I would like to go. Unless a GD is specifically needed I will be bringing my cu. Its been a long time so will probably be a lazy stealther. If we can do this every week, I would love to try it as an archer.

I really like the sound of this and will try to be there as well on tamer, Ariana, who would be happy to roll the dice and split loots; with protectors as well.

I very much like the idea of hiring protection and offer my proposed 100k check to pay the protectors; I can't pvp for nothing.

Thanks all who are coming (or trying to make it) and it sounds like this dice roll idea is supported by the majority so we will try that out should we be successful in completing the spawn . I will update the original post. Thanks for initiating that idea, Raptor85.

Thanks Roland, that is a very good point. If anyone has ideas to prevent this, let me know. Otherwise, perhaps on our way we will stop at my house and I will grant access to the event group and we can all meet up there to roll for the goods afterwards.

It wasnt a "success", but it was good fun and she had met some new people. *throws tissues away*.

Maybe the instructions weren't understood, if you wanted to spawn, you just had to post who you were, otherwise you would be considered raiders.

Maybe next Friday would be different.

Hope no one is too discouraged by the outcome. Unfortunately we were raided within the first 5-10 minutes. Had 6 people in the event team.

You missed round 2, I was snooping with my thief at jhelom bank around 7:45 thinking they hadn't left yet....and learned about the raid, so offered my help to turn the tables

We had a very good team together, and managed to complete what is, IMHO, the absolute hardest of the spawns. Neira the Necromancer

It took many a death robe...but it was well worth it, we got two 120's, one of them very nice

To everyone else who was there, it was a blast, we died hilariously often (generally due to blood oath and a spawn of 10 lich lords) but we took her down! (I also had a near death experience with a greater dragon who got in my way). One of the funnest spawns I've done in years.
