[Fishing] Siege Gains

I am curious about how fishing gains work on Siege as far as crabs are concerned. I know ROT but my fisherman is 59.6 and I took him out crabbing and he got zero gains in 90 minutes. I got a good amount of crabs and lobsters but no gains. I did the same with a fisherman on Chessy and was able to get gains and took him through the mid 60's with crabbing. I think I started with him at 55 or 56. So is Siege different or is it something else?

No, Siege isn't different at that level. Where did you place your pots? I suggest using a crystal ball of knowledge so that you know if you're in the right depth of water to get the gains.

I did not have access to a crystal ball of knowledge, couldn't find one for sale. I gave up on the crabbing for the time being and went back to fishing and hit 70 and am now in the ROT. I was not aware that crabbing was affected by deep water or shallow water. I thought it was just regular fishing that was affected by that.

The crystal ball is a quest reward in Ter Mur. Talk to Ortlem the Mystic (I think he is just southwest of the soulforge in town). You'll need 100 Dragon's Blood and 100 Daemin Bone to complete the quest. It is pretty easy to get.

no, at higher skill levels you have to be in deeper water whether you're fishing or crabbing.
