This may be a unrealistic idea or one maybe already in use that I did not see but here goes.

I think it would be great to see somekind of large player ran event, maybe a couple of hourer or a 2 dayer.

Maybe have some competitions with a guild leader or officer from 5 different guilds for each event as judges to ensure fairness.

Could be an excellent chance for a live market during the event kind of like the constant live market I remember in Brit a long time ago. The community could pool gold together to get some neat prizes for events.

Any players or guilds interested in something like this. A chance to have someone fun outside of guild politics and fighting.

Any ideas for events?
Maybe even a live 5 minute trash talking event to be judged. Reading these forums I think at least someone has to be interested in that.

Maybe skill based pk tournaments.
Swords Vs. Swords.
Mage Vs. Mage and such.

A chance for people to earn some unquestioned smach talkin rights.

This is by far no plan, just an idea.
Anyone has ideas to add to help make this move towards a plan.
Anyone support this kind of idea, or think its a bad idea and have a reason why?

TnT was hosting a fight night in Stonehaven for awhile. There were rules and guidelines laid down and 1v1-pvp. It was fun to particapate in or just watch. Kat spearheaded that. She may be a good contact to talk too.

Well I wish ya luck in whatever ye may try here.

We used to have quite a few player run events oft weekly bi weekly monthly and seasonally.

Iantown when it was thriving was always hosting something, till they dwindled in population.

Wintermoor KSS had Fight night sundays weekly then bi monthly every sunday night in Wintermoor then Skara Brae, as KSS/ Wintermoor dwindled. I was the res'er at many of those and hostess. We also held 4 day long celtic festival and many attended those events too per night once upon a time here.

Shire had some fight nights and story nights weekly etc. too till they too dwindled.

Even prior to that there were fight nights hosted by Pyrmal Rev by Yew.
Then Memnoch's Tourneys..

Major Jax although we oft not seem to see eye to eye, nor seem to hit it off, I did try to encourage folks I ran into to go to them, he tried hosting many an event and wars and fights here and he has *left the building.*

Skylark had held many events as well.

Normally it all went one of two ways lately...people actually DO co operate and attend and have fun...or someone has to trash the entire event before it even gets off the ground to happen. Guests even looting their opponents IN the duel pits when they vowed they would not do so...... etc.

Basically, the shard is DEAD of events and when someone tries to host things someone else just has to try to destroy it all, till folks all give up no matter whom they are what guilds...the *others* just opt to f it all up..so those whom remain here no longer try, no one attends hardly, every one gave up and seems too many are just more interested in BASH the other ones ...period ruin their attempts to do anything here, and I know I myself was not too co operated at all with Major Jax .......I do apologise. . but seen many try and always ends up the same here lately...trashed up and no one attends or even holds events for their own guilds just same old same rinse repeat board pvp and incite anger so we get fights on a shard of dwindling population.

Good luck ..sorry for the pessimism but that is about all that seems left here...that goes on .......pretty much nothing but same behaviors over and over again ..........on what once was a thriving community acting like *community* co operating MORE and no longer seem to even try to do so, for long time now.

Major Jax has left the building.......

*follows* even though he and I barely got along...his reasons for leaving some of them... end up also my own !

I do wish ye luck though, maybe ye will succeed !

I have a plan in the works to resurrect Story Nights - as an independent.

Hopefully, it will be a forerunner to other, future events.

BTW I still have a sleigh etc. on chrs. on Sonoma if ya want any sleigh or those holiday anniv. items there for the Y or ye self or others ya may know there whom maybe not get those items. I think that lass I made for that memorial is still in felucca.. there...
last time I looked.

There will be mega story telling this week PaxLair felucca is celebrating it's 10th anniversary of remaining alive and thriving and growing since Lord British visited them *back in the day*. . lots of multi guilded multi faceted events to take place in the next few days not many a player run town achieves 10 full UO years of *life* (calendar of events this week)..


And good luck resurrecting story nights etc. here. Ye know where to find me if ya wanna come say hello here or there..

ide like to see dart tournies on SP. This way vets and newbs alike could compete. Would be a great thing to see and very simple and easy to setup.

Primary thing an Event developers has to do is: Make the event immune to
interference to those who play the event.
It really does not take much to end an event. Sometimes just word!
Those who dominate this way are just saying, your game is over with.
This is not illegal, and is not unethical, it is just unfortunate nothing can
really be done once the event fails.
There are no EM events, please do not ask why, you should know by now.

Normaly, something like this could lead to a permanant suspension of posting privelges. At the very least, a lengthy temporary suspension. You and several other folks are relativly new here to these forums.

I quick post to all who read the earlier part of this thread.
Stealth and I are real good friends in the real world and have served
in war together. Nothing malicous was meant by this, it was not an underhanded attack. It was just a poorly chosen joke. This message is only directed to the readers of the posts and not the moderator.

I just wanted to let everyone know that fact, before I lose the ability to make that clear.

Yes, house and I are good friends. I don't understand why a post like that was necessary when I see people all over these forums breaking the so called rules. And to say that because people are new, why would you assume that, just because we aren't one of the Long Time veterans?

My thought is that if rules are there to be followed then all rules need to be followed and by everyone! Don't just pick and choose the rules that need to be followed and who needs to follow them. Man what is this all coming too?

People violate the RoC publically, but wrist slaps, warnings and vacation itineraries are not posted publically. Such actions hare handled privately. It would be a mistake to presume that action isn't taken from time to time.

I believe Kelmo's statement was his way of cutting your friend a little slack since he is fairly new around here, rather than picking on him as you seem to be suggesting.

Run with it man, Remind me to post some Ideas and suggestions cuzz i have quite a few. and I dont think this would be limited to just tamers, Ill do some research on what level taming an individual has to have to tame a chickin, it might be under 20 so humans could tame and train there own as well? and im not sure if i remember right but cant you buy chickins from farmers or tamers? Ah heres one an Idea im sure ill forget before tommarow, If you do a Double elimination style tournement you might want to remind contestents to have their pets bonded! Im tired g'nite folks.

Cool ideas!

There've been a number of events in the past, and we're always up for more.

Used to have story night - that was fun, and the Vmp raid was always expected.

There've been any number of fight nights, and I hope we get those going again. Sometimes the organization is tough.

You just have to remember that being disrupted, and the event degenerating into a brawl is almost inevitable. Plan for it.

I remember one "war" where the territory of dispute was preannounced, so I loaded it with dozens of kirins, and there was much carnage and more complaining.

Maybe we can find a big enough area "All guard zone" to try to keep the fighting to a minimun .. Everyone knows before hand this event is being held in a gurad zone and you will be Guard Wackd if you get stupid .
Just a thought to keep the peace ... This could be fun . On my old shard we had entry fee's &amp; even placed bets, had a bookie and bank ... I know we could all agree with a most trusted person to be the bank . Any nominations ?

What I found out about chickins was that it takes -0.9 taming(is that possible) to tame them. So virtually everybody including elves with 0 skill have a chance at taming chickins! A guard zone really wouldnt work in case someone "accidently" called the guards. Oh and as far as a nomination for an event treasurer could I suggest Lord Puffy!
Or maybe Shalimar of NEW if she where interested. Oh, you would need to procure the services of one or two dedicated veterinarians. If youd like help or Ideas coordinating an event like this let me know.

What are pets that any human with 0 taming could tame? Would jewlery allow elves with 0 taming to tame the same things?

We would be most happy with any and all help from the Vets , this is the idea of Dr.House and we thank all that put forth the effort to try to make this happen.
And would humans be able to do this too ??? Tame chickens ? Let us know if anybody has more info on taming and -0 or lower level animals to be tamed. Thank you all

Thats what I was thinking, Chickens be the main draw but do other lower level taming animals too. So everyone can join in the fun. Do differant heats , differant animals ,Big &amp; Little ??? Seasond tamers and people that just started out ... Have a class set for the heats ?

Any small animals fight about the same chickens monbats sheep cats dogs, things get a little tougher when you get in the the upper 20's in taming skills the horses llamas and such. but any thing you can tame as human is about the same.

theoreticly all pets can be trained up to 125 stats and gm in the skills they started with .
i am training up some small pets on lake austin . altho im having issues with a ice serpent (from the green thorns) . he doesnt seem to want to get over 80 hp no matter what i do.

i do have an albino squirrel . he started out about as tough as a chicken. now hes 125 hp 125 dex and 125 int . his skills are all in the 90s . he can whack an ogre or ettin without help .

i remember one dude in our alliance couldnt find a gollum to train on so im like , go ahaid , attack my squirrel (he can use a little more training)... bad plan . the dude would have died if i hadnt invised him right quick lol.
