Show the actual color of an item while cursoring over it

Several (?) months ago someone listed in a thread how to still show the actual "color" of an item while cursoring over it. I forgot to bookmark it and now I can't find it. Does anyone have a link to it by chance? I am getting ready for another rares, server birth, and rubble auction and it would be most helpful. Thanks!
