Shipwreck Treasure...

Tonight's episode of Treasure Quest will finally be the one that we taped earlier this year (or at least parts of that taping will be involved).

Just be glad we don't have to conserve the shipwreck loot we pull up in UO!

Anyway, tonight, 10pm EDT/9PM CDT on Discovery.

I'll be honest, each shipwreck we get is really really cool... for about the first month of work. Since most shipwrecks have basically the same coin (in bulk), after that amount of time, it becomes a production job of churning out widgets.

Still though, even with that, and even being simply in an office and not out at sea, it is still a job that does kick back and amaze me that I have it.

I'm the one in the lab coat in the ring of white buckets. I also set up the gold snd silver coins for the closeup shots (stacks and piles on black background) during some of the portions of the show.

Also on the TQ website on the Discovery Channel's site, there's a pic with me and the main guy in the Timeline section from a portion of filming that isn't in the episode.

Still unidentified though.

I just started watching that show not too long ago... I guess you really never know who might play uo. Do you only get to play in the off season or can you sneak away from the treasure to kill a few dragons? :)

Well, *insert your favorite bad word here* I wish I'd seen this yesterday instead of today so I would have known to watch! Any chance they'll rerun this episode?

Are the sunken ships you work with only in certain waters? Do they cover only certain time periods?

I'm with ya Devil_Woman! I do watch the show, but typically when it is re-ran on the weekend or on an off night. I will have to do some searching for this episode.

I never get to stay up late enough to watch it so we watch it on demand....if your cable company has that.
It's one of the few shows a family can watch together to enjoy and learn :)

I thought it was funny that Spain wanted nothing to do with it, until there was money found, then it was all like. Your taking this away from us. Plus the shipwreak is out in International waters. Not even near Spain. It has been sitting there for what like 200Yrs. And they did nothing about it. Yet as soon as you guys spend the time to find it, and start cleaning up. Then they are all over you.. Just wrong...

That would be me in the labcoat.

To answer a few other questions, I'm on the mainland in the US, not on the boat, so I have plenty of time to play UO. Also I work for a company that works WITH the company in the program, not for that company itself.

As for what areas and types of shipwrecks, check the website of the company involved for information on what they are focusing on shipwreck-wise.

Glad people enjoyed/are enjoying it. It is a very unique job and I'm lucky to have gotten into it. Can't say that it's ALL glamor though. A LOT of it on our end is simply production-line style work.

My only other question is... Whats going to happen to the treasure, Or is that part of next season?
