Hi just wanted to see if I could get a price check or more info on a possible server birth shell.

A friend says it might be something that was previously a SB but is now common and I was hoping someone might be able to clear that up.

I have never seen or heard of this being a common item now. The shipwreck, the rubble, and the dredging hook variants are the only ones I’m aware of outside of the SB ones. Unless there is a way/bug for the ones fished up with the dredging hooks to loose their special color, but doubtful.

Ah ok so could it be a dredging hook variant ? Is there an entry for those and is it just named “shell” like the SB ? I know the shipwreck ones come with the “recovered from a shipwreck” tag.

Ok so it appears that they don’t come in hue 0 like the SB ones do. Just need to confirm with the owner that it is indeed hue 0. Thanks chaps.

Correct, the ones that are fished up with dredging hooks are titled “shell”, “shells” “Nautilus”, etc etc, but come in the following hues:
1165.
1166.
1167.
1168.
If the one you are referencing is hued 0, I would say you have no reason to believe it is anything other than a server birth shell.

I thought there was a brief period where the "recovered from" line was lost on items recently when they did the sos change.

I'm a little skeptical that it is a SB or monthly item, but I have no other explanation. I find Draza's theory more viable as there has be no widespread trading history of SB shells in the past (or even the mention of them).

Well there is an entry so I would imagine they do exist but in this case the mystery is solved not a server birth shell as it was hue 1168. Wouldn't have been able to work it out without your help guys so thank you.
