Sheer,Utter, And Total Frustration

Ok, UO is becoming more frustrating than fun for me.

Here is one of my problems and maybe someone can tell me what the frack is going on with UO. I was moving some stuff from one house to another via my house teleporters. Side note, I was going between Tram and Fel facet of Ice Island. I kept getting castles on top of castle duplication, bleed over, or whatever you want to call it. I had to clear the Housing Cache and log out & back in multiple times before I got the move done. At one point it was so messed up, I couldn't get in or out of my castle cause of the other castles on top of mine. I have locked up and had to log out and completely restart UO 3x.

So my question is there something I can do in the future to lessen or even prevent this from happening again.

I have a laundry list of other problems too.. like crashing trying to do boss at shipwreck in CC (I understand this is a know issue), crashing every time I go to the rat spawn in Abyss. The list go on and on. I am at the point I am read to toss in the towel and spend my money on a Xbox Gold Acct or Playstation network acct anything less frustrating to play than this. UO right now for me is Lucy with the football and I am poor ole Charlie Brown trying to kick it....AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHH, GOOD GRIEF!!!!

Hmm, about 2 years old and I am running windows 7 64bit, with 6 gigs of ram... oh more thing I am using Wi-Fi to connect to my network modem/router.

This bug with the house remains happens, if you change the facet to the same coordinates, it happens, if you go to another shard on the same coordinates ... Nice if you get trapped in walls, while any other players or mobs are not.
It happens also from time to time, if an IDOC collapses. In all those situations you have to close the client completely.
Has nothing to do with the power of the PC or the video card ...

Supposedly lowering the memory available for the housing cache to zero means that every new area reloads the houses rather than holding stuff in memory. It is that memory image that is causing your issue. However - this no cache for memory setting does mean you might not load as fast when you enter a new area.

I know where to set this in the EC, but I have no idea if/how/where it is in the CC.

In options, on the right side, click the UO symbol. At the bottom of that section it gives you an option for how many houses the client will cache. Not sure if merely lowering it some would solve the problem, it didn't seem to help much for me. I tend to have that issue when poking aroun d other shards and then coming home.

i have mine set to 0 in CC and rarely have this issue. i do seem to get it on occasion when doing an IDOC or making multiple trips on house teleporters or shard hopping without shutting down UO, but never to the extent to which you describe.

I get it when I change shards... its anoying but its nto every time so I deal with it.

Ty, for all your ideas. This is 1st time I have had to this extreme.

Tazar - I keep my housing cache on 1, wont let me keep on zero.. I change to zero but it goes back to 1 when I open UO.

Victim of Siege - can I ask how you get to stay on zero? Do you reset every time you open UO?

i actually set it to zero when i log out, i find that helps when doing multiple logins across shards.
