Shaman <3

My main character lately has seemed to become my Shaman. Since starting her a couple months ago she's up to 52 right now and has easily been one of the more fun classes I have run.

I decided to go the elemental route and I'm definitely racking up the damage - heck. I have a talent that gives me a 20% chance to shoot off another lightning bolt spell for free (the 2nd does half damage). However, I've seen this get shot off 4 times in a row with one cast. So does that mean the 3rd bolt does 1/4 damage as the first, and the 4th bolt does 1/8 damage?

What was really nice was I had my elemental mastery activated so all 4 bolts counted as crits. When I was level 51 and had this happen I almost took out a level 54 in one shot.

I'm curious if this is the way those talents are supposed to work when stacked, or if it's not intended, hmmmmm. So far it's only ever happened once, so it's not like it's entirely unbalanced.

Shaman is one class I really have not tried, so I would like to see you in action. I read often on the WoW forums how they complain about Shammy's being a bit under powered, but it doesn't sound like it from your point of view.

I'm thinking they probably are underpowered in PVP.

Eld, I rolled an Orc Shaman and have been having a great time leveling him. I took the majority of players' advice and treed him Enchancement to level.

He has been a blast so far, I wish the Lightning Shield lasted more than 3 smacks but all in all, he is fun to play. In a few short days, he is now 34th and I am surprised at how many spells Shamans have. They seem to get 4-6 each level. Many upgrades, but still, his screen has a lot of spell incons on it.

Thanks for the tip to try one.

Yeah, I'm told Enhancement is where the real power is. I've been debating on a respec - but right now I'm pretty happy with elemental. I get absolutely owned in PVP though but it looks like spec in Enchancement would improve that immensely.

I'm probably going to respec a bit and try to do elemental with a hint of enhancement.

I dont know a whole lot about Shamans just yet but from what i can tell so far they sure dont seem underpowered. My main chars are Rogue and a Shadow priest but i am working a shaman and a Hunter right now.

It would be interesting to find out about the lightning thing for sure. I am currently spec'ed enhan and so far like it. Was able to take out 2 24 mobs 1 26 priest and 1 28 tank all at the same time when i was 24 so shamans are not underpowered.

I killed the 2 players 3 more times before they kneeled and i backed off. Got screen shots.

To be honest my Shaman could possibly replace my rogue as main char when i hit 70 on him.

Eldorian,

In my Op you should go enhanc on your shaman it really is fun plus you get a ton of DPS.

you can take out mobs 3-4 levels higher then you with out losing much of your HP. Also you dont really have to heal much.

I switched to enhancement this week and I do pretty damn good if I'm solo. However, I mainly run with a mage and a shadow priest and they end up killing the dang monsters before I can hit them so I haven't been able to prove to them yet that my spec seems more powerful.

Especially considering before I respeced I was keeping up with the mage as far as damage went.

Now I'm significantly lower since I get into the fight later.
