Well I had fun last night; yes I am trying a skill I never have played before, that of an Archer. I have always been a Swordsman, but I thought I would change styles and be an Archer.

Ok so I go to a vendor and buy a couple Heavy Cross Bows and Composite etc... Go to the guy who sells Bolts and Arrows and Buy 500 of Each, take about 150 of each with me and the rest in my bank, make sure I have about 100 band Aids and about 75 of each reg. Ok I’m gonna work on Healing with Band Aids, work on my Mage Skills both Cor Por and Healing, etc.. And I think I am ready to take on SOSARIA.

I head off to Dellucia (sp) I know I can Kill lots of Hinds and Harks, also some Bulls Cows etc… Well this is going very well, so I start down the road and I run into a camp of Orcs, I lead 2 away from the cam and I start to shoot them. After about 30 mins I kill them both and then head back to the camp to kill some more. I succeed so I feel a bit more DARING, Dumb is more the word, but we will use Daring for now. I go to the Undead Fort, and I lead a Skeleton and a Skeletal Knight away and start to do the same, but guess what…. Regular Cross Bows do not work well on the UNDEAD, you need an UNDEAD SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What ever happend good old SILVER STUFF?!!!!!

So after a while of getting rezed and getting my stuff back I go and buy some UNDEAD killing Cross Bows. BUT I notice that some of my BAGS are Missing, MY REGS were not on my Body, Ah that is what the Skellys Took. Ok so I go to the Mage Shop Buy 40 or more of each reg, and go back to kill the Skellys that got me. OH NO A BONE MAGE!!!!! Ok so after I get Rezed again and again, and back to the Mage Shop for more Regs, I finally Kill all the Skellys and Bone Mages and get all my stuff back.

After all is said and Done, My STR is now 100, and My Archery is about 30. Healing is up to about 38, and Magery is about 40. Soon I will be able to mark Runes. YEA

Well enough of this long winded Post, Just letting you know that the New Player Feeling is still there, with every Rez I receive.

Glad to hear you're having fun Caesar! The Mage/Archer combo is different than it used to be primarily because of the nerf to mana leech on Archery weapons. This template is a good one to try out as it's about as balanced between the 2 skills as I've seen:

Mage/Archer

110 Archery
90 Tactics
90 Healing
80 Anatomy
110 Magery
85 Eval. Int.
60 Meditation
75 Resist

85 str / 60 int / 80 dex
________________________________________
Pro's:
- Healing and Magery (great healing)
- High Eval. Int. and Magery
- High Resist
- Meditation (restores mana while equipped with bow).
- Can use Archery weapon specials
________________________________________
Con's:
- 85 Eval. Int. doesn't give pure Mage damage
- Less Meditation then the Pure Mage.
- Less Dexterity than the average Archer.

One of the benefits of this particular template is the lack of need for millions for 120 scrolls. If you happen to be lucky enough to get a Hunter's Headdress or a ring/brace with +10 Archery on it that fits the rest of your suit, you could take Archery to 120 though, which I'd recommend if you can swing it. Hope this helps.
