Yes, they do....

And I have a set just like that one, but twice as big (all chests in both facings), as deco and storage in the Lake Austin THB Guildhouse...

Doh... I didn't know they still spawned or I wouldn't have posted it here. Sorry

As for the set with both directions, they can be turned with the Interior Decorator tool, so I didn't bother.
