Server Latency

Every evening from about 4:00 EST until 9:00, I get so much lag that UO is unplayable. Of course this is prime playing time. I've done trace routes, contacted my ISP and they say there is nothing they can do (such as routing around ATT networks). I've looked at router settings and even tried alternate DNS servers (which messed up router settings and had to be undone).

I usually ping 195-250 ms, but get 600ms- 900ms in the evenings. Suggestions anyone?

What the hell is a packet anyway?

A packet is the pieces of information that is getting sent. Packet loss is when parts of that information is lost. So in your instance you losing 30%-80% of the information that your computer is sending to the server, thus causing ur UO experience HORRIBLE
