Excuse me, but would you mind explaining what prepatch means regarding pets? I read it a lot lately and I know I have my pets for many, many years. But I don´t notice a difference to "modern" pets...

Pre-patch have stats that are not obtainable any longer.

Actually, in this case, there are a number of quirky actions that are possible with prepatch hiryus that are not possible with newer pets. These are mountable while the pet is invised, for instance.

Yeah, that's true regarding the invis. Some pets are special colors, some can do special sounds, some can do special abilities. I should of worded pre-patch as meaning attributes that aren't obtainable anymore.
