Hey everyone,
Unfortunately at this time, I think I will be leaving UO. I have left and come back a number of times over the 20 years, (as most of us probably have) but I just don't think this game is for me anymore. And yes we know EA has run many aspects of this game into the ground that we once loved, but for me it was still always worth playing because of the people. Well.... now the people kind of suck? LoL. I knew this game was always item based but now more than ever it seems to be more about greed. Sure it was always about items, but most people were super nice. PvP seems to be at an all time low between no factions and endless legendary items. Even my old guild only seems to have half a dozen members left that have their head on straight. I know it has gotten bad when I sit in the help channel and seem to be the only one willing to stop and imbue something for someone, or help tame a dragon after 30 minutes of them asking for help. However, I also don't want this message to sound negative. There are still a TON nice/great people in the rares/UO community that are fun to talk to, trade with, and just be around.
@BrianFreud , @Restless , @jopromol , @Zandor , @Keith of Sonoma, @Thor VII , @Clops
@Smoot (Just to name a few
)
As some of you know, there have been SEVERAL large IDOC falls on Lake Superior. Lake Superior was my home shard from the beginning until UOF took over the PvP scene, and I moved to Atlantic. Many of my old friends and acquaintances have had their houses fall. I wish I was still in contact with them and I would only hope these people in RL are okay as it does not seem "normal' for them to let all their rares fall. I had a deal to try and save some of these items, and the deal was finished and agreed upon with a payment amount pending. (Still have logs VIA ICQ and UO) As a broker was trying to be set up for some of these items, the "ambulance chaser" decided to swoop in and out bid me. I did not have the gold at the time, and the seller then stated "I do not care if we agreed on a deal, as I have a chance to make more money." This is the way of the world, so it is what it is. The seller has a pretty TERRIBLE reputation on the boards here, so I am willing to guess everyone knows who this person is. As for the buyer, well... I do not believe he is well respected either & I really have no idea why anyone uses him for anything. I do not really approve of how he made his fortune on UO. I knew any attempts to try and get or save these items would ultimately end in a fail. It did. And the buyer lied to me and others in regards to the items that were bought. I do not want to really stick around and see all these other unique items that have a great deal of UO history go into "bad" hands. I am sure in the next couple of weeks, you all might see some really cool items come across the boards. If you are one of the people tagged above, please bid... and bid hard.
I would rather see my old friend's items go into the hands of respectable people.
Do not feel too bad for me, karma does seem to exist. I had bought a server birth from this seller where neither of us knew the price. I paid 200million, and it seems to be worth 2+ plat. Had the seller honored his original sale.... he would have actually made more money than he did as I would have back paid the difference on the first server birth item. Greed and Karma have a funny way of working sometimes.
I was going to run this first set of items as an auction. However, I see @Restless just posted a really cool auction with nice items. Out of respect to him, I do not want to have another auction going with similar end dates. Below are listed items and pictures of my first 20 items or so. This will be a first come, first serve basis through ICQ. I consider myself a pretty decent buyer, and I try to buy on the lower end when there are deals to be made (as we all do) I am willing to sell every item at a break even or at a slight loss. However, do not insult me with any extremely low ICQ bids. I would rather the item rot in the bank than have someone steal it from me.
It is unfortunate as I had literally just bought some of these items.
Tatiana and @Princess Zora had just finished designing my castle & roof. (Thank You Tatiana!) Tatiana did a great job, and I bought her a wearable rare out of appreciation. Maybe I will just keep the account and castle sitting. I literally did not even get a chance to start decorating, and I was just getting my items out of boxes. As you can see, most of my bottom floor collection here was blood or death room Event Items related.
Also, please don't post inquiring about the story of what happened or causing any additional drama for the administrators to clean up on the thread. I am still pretty angry about this, and I am trying to follow all board rules with no names. However, ICQ is fair game. My reputation and integrity is very strong. You can feel free to ICQ me, and I will give out all my personal opinions and the appropriate warnings necessary.
Here are the first set of items:
#1. Biting Rat of Muroidea (Probably one of my favorite Items - Rat Bites you when walking near making your character scream, and you bleed for several seconds. If you run, it's enough to fill half my court yard inside the castle with blood) SOLD
#2: Victim of Lazaros the Necromancer SOLD
#3: A Vase Filled With Screaming Voices and Blood of Dead Heroes in Felucca (2) : Fear the Mad King
(Great Deco Item. See Pictures above as I believe I was the first to lower a vet reward brazier into the vase the day these came out. Many still do not know about this neat graphic trick. The Vase cut out fits the fire perfectly. It makes it great for an entrance, hall way, etc.)
#4: A Blood Soaked Deadwood Tree Immortalized by the horrid murders of Bane: Ashmedai (2)
#5: Bloodstone Dust
#6: A Crystal with an Evil Presence Trapped Within (Very Unique Noise when Dbl Clicked -Hard to describe)
#7: A Pile of Tangled Bones Collected From the Undead King (Bone Scatter Noise when Dbl clicked)
#8: Cursed Candles from a Demonic Ritual (2) (Lights Candles with Demon Growl when Dbl clicked)
SOLD
#9: A Very Old and Well Used Guillotine (Going to have a Hard Time Letting this one Go) (Slice noise from the Guillotine when double clicked)
#10: Eden, the Sleepy Hellhound Puppy (Stomach moves up and down when locked down) SOLD
#11: Devil's Contract SOLD
#12: A Piece of Charcoal used to Heat the Kryss of Obedience to release it from Minax's Curse (Unique sound similar to an E-bolt...but not an e-bolt when double clicked)
#13: Necronomicon Manuscript used by Maverick the Conjerer to Imprison the Lost Souls
#14: Vlad the Torturer's personal Torture Tools (Woman Screaming noise when Dbl Clicked)
#15: A Tapestry Commissioned by the King as Reward for Capture of an Imposter (Very Unique 5 second Drumming sound when Dbl Clicked - Never heard before) SOLD
#16: A skull candle made of Evil Hanarins Head (Makes Sound of a Ghoul dying when Dbl Clicked) SOLD
#17: A Rare Sand Speckled Sapphire From Nujel'm (Makes Greater Heal sound when Dbl Clicked while also making an animation - See Picture above)
#18: A Sacrificial Offering to the Beast called Uskek'rah'p SOLD
#19: Gruesome Standard of the Pale Orc Warband, Carved into it are the words, "Glory to da BludGod!"
(There are two of these each with different graphics. One was changed after the drop, and only a few circular ones made it out. I would like to sell both of these as a set)
#20: Champion of Chesapeake
#21: A Wolfgang Ruby Twisted by Minax's Magc in an Attempt to remake the gem of Immortality (Makes the entrance to Felucca sound when Dbl Clicked) SOLD
#22: A Luxury and Magical Lantern Holding The Residual Reason of The Mad King SOLD
#23: The Heart of a Frost Wyrm (Makes Air Elemental Noise when Dbl Clicked)
Feel free to ICQ me for additional info such as drop count, shard, etc. Maybe after Restless finishes his auction, I can turn any remaining items into an Auction as I really wanted to post this as an auction.
