They are the large Black rift pieces from the moongate. Not your run of the mill rubble piece

Dark coloured blocks, that were stacked to form the void rift in Magincia.
Basically the same graphics as a statue maker. It's unlabelled, but object handles show it as "statueblock"

16 of them were on each shard, 8 to each facet, 1 for each void guardian that appeared a couple of horus ago. They were movable, though the fact they're unlabelled makes me wonder if it wasn't due to a mistake.

I would guess is that when Draconi was adding the new features to the Rift Guardians, he forgot to lock down the blocks. The blocks did disappear when a Guardian was defeated.

There are going to be slightly less than 16 X all shards in existence because some exploded before people knew you could pick them up.

its pretty dumb how this event gets deployed late on a monday night, when the fof stated that it would be 24 from then meaning saturday night, ea goes out of its way to screw people over sometimes

It didn't really matter when it was deployed. I noticed within a minute that you could pick up the pillars because I always check for this stuff. Then I went to Trammel about 10 minutes later and no one there had noticed, despite 2 dozen people being present.

Well not really, if they weren't meant to be movable, then it wasn't an intentional thing, and it wouldn't have made that much more difference. People are mainly pissed about the blocks being a one time only lucky grab.

Personally I'd hold off buying and selling of them until we know what the deal is, for example, the Guard bows that dropped by mistake will be deleted. It's a risky investment.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that the event leads to another blackrock hand in, only for the 'good guys' this time who have felt cheated ever since the traders, and these blocks could likely be tied into that. The only question then is, what reward would be worth handing them in for now, certainly not artifacts. Again, just a personal theory.

yeah that's how I noticed. I had honored myself just to check things out and I just happened to mouse over one and noticed it said 5 stones...I thought..'No way..." So I ran in and grabbed one....was like WOOT! *laughs* So I grabbed the rest from tram side minus 1 I think? Then ran to fel and only found one there. Very cool deco item for sure, I ain't sellin mine.

When the event started, I told all my friends about it, and they were grateful.. so grateful that they told me about these blocks they got, so I went to see if any were left. No luck on the non-asian shards, so on to the asian shards... what happens? I died several times trying, loot 4, but because my pathetic characters ran out of insurance money early on, they were all looted off my corpse by BLUES who thanked me. So I hope everyone enjoys them, and I hope they respawn over and over and over again

He's not "selling" the the black rift pieces, he's "selling" the game cd. Like when you buy tickets for shows/concerts. You buy an envelope that happens to come with the tickets inside.

That on ebay isnt that bad of a deal, Id buy it if I had $50 only because I could use the 9th anni update from 8th age and comes with 4 rifts

$50 is only about 25m lol so thats Great

Hold onto it for a week and I do $50

I might have been (I was in and out of Fel Magincia a few times over the course of the day), and that was my guess exactly. I plan on hounding Drac till it gets replaced, too, cause there was no way to know that would happen and it was completely out of my hands anyway.

That and the one that vanished was to be a gift for a friend.. two were to be gifts, one was to be kept.. I gave one of the gift ones away before I realized the other had disappeared. I only took three so other people would have a chance at getting them. If I don't get the other back it looks like I won't be keeping one.
