The newly tamed Cu's start with 3 control slots, the prepatched ones unless special start with 4 control slots.

Not exactly correct. At the time, you could release and retame and they would drop to three slots. Now, if you do that on them, they remain at 4 slots. The window of opportunity, so to speak, has passed. As a four slot, that Cu only gets one training round.
